Your TOP Sim & World Enhancement Mods

Noticed this the other day while perusing the marketplace. Looks intriguing, but I haven’t yet seen any reviews on the product or its impact on performance.

Yes I stood out in the last update and I had a good read of it. I’ve also not found any reviews yet, but I hope someone does.

From the description it doesn’t appear to add any new photogrammetry, but instead it unflattens that which is currently hidden around existing coastlines and rivers. So presumably you get photogrammetry boats and bridges instead of flat images. This sounds like it could be a decent improvement because it’s worldwide.

However on the flip side, the pg boats and bridges that do exist generally look really poor, it probably varies significantly around the world with the quality of the local pg as it does for buildings.

Meanwhile for PC users we have Mamu designs global marinas which is excellent, much better than any pg boats would be. I also have quite a few of the Seafront Simulations boats packs, and many of the city scenery packs of which quite a few include marine area improvements. As a result I’d be concerned that adding this pg into the works will just mess everything up.

Finally!!

Thanks to @XboxMonkey4665 for pointing it out!

I bought this last week on Series X and have generally been very impressed with it. It seems to do exactly what it says on the tin and, at least on xbox where we have limited alternatives, I can see the benefit.

That said, I have noticed wvhat seem to be a few conflicts with certain sceneries.

Samscene’s Vancouver now has the photogrammetry “water hangers” showing and slightly misaligned with Sam’s modelled ones.
Similarly, with Vessels: South Coast (the only one I have), the photogrammetry and modelled boats seem to both be showing. It’s not perfect, but from a moderate height isn’t really that noticeable. I suspect the enhanced photogrammetry is doing something to the exclusion areas these sceneries have in place to hide default photogrammetry.
On PC this might not be much of an issue as small, unofficial fixes are more easily applied.

Also, in some cases, you can kind of see where the creator has used I presume a brush tool to highlight the various objects and there can be a noticeable “border” around them - not too bad if the water colour matches the underlying photo data, but it doesn’t always.

In general though, I’m pleased with the results. There are no more flickering boats and marinas which is a huge plus to me.

In terms of performance, I think I may have seen a very occasional stutter related to the new areas, but its really hard to be sure - certainly nothing major.

Here’s a few shots I took from around Portland amd Vancouver - unhelpfully, not showing any of the issues I mentioned above, but it’ll give you an idea.

hello everyone,

Thanx to this very topic I’m quite interested on BIJAN HABASHI’s 4 Seasons, but it looks like “old”; do you suggest it today in jan 24? or is there other alternative for having seasons in MSFS? thanx

ps: my 5 points ot FSLTL, 4 We Love VFR.

4 Seasons is being developed again so it’s not dead any more.

There is also REX AccuSeason that does a similar thing.

Thanks for your comment

This was and remains a must-have addon, especially now that the developer is back and already began releasing new updates.

It’s worth remembering that MSFS 2024 has been advertised as having seasons and new 3D trees. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is still 9 months away, but it’s worth bearing in mind - if the value you get out of an addon in that time is sufficient it might still be a good buy. Only the user can balance that equation.

It’s not dissimilar to buying an airport or city enhancement only to find it appears in a world update, except this time we have advance warning.

What you wrote is exactly what I had thought; moreover, the fact that Bijian Habashi had not updated his product anymore, I had connected it to the announcement of MSFS 2024 with the seasons and the new alberi; my two cents is that new 2024 features is made by Habashi himself;

Resurrecting this topic!! I have made a new addition to my Charts website, for this category of mods and add-ons. This chart is focussed on must-have global mods, enhancements and utilities that improve the MSFS experience. No individual sceneries or specific aircraft improvement mods.

Thanks buddy - added!

First of all Little Navmap. I never fly without it since it’s very useful for flightplanning and tracking your flights.

When it comes to homecockpit tools, definitely Mobiflight - it’s incredibly powerful for setting up a homecockpit. Also Air Manager is very useful for me.

Not sure if vatsim-related stuff counts, if yes, then vpilot and vafsim radar for sure.

And probably the most important is the heclak UI mod fixing the in-game toolbar panel.

Everything on MSFS2024 PC

Thanks for that. Do you think I should add “Vatsim” as a separate category? Or would that be “Navigation” / “Traffic”?

Well, I think that there should be a category like “online flying/traffic” with vatsim-related stuff, say intentions, beyond atc etc

“Multiplayer” covers it?

EDIT: Actually I suppose “ATC”.

Here’s my list:

Spad.Next - how many hours have I spent creating profiles?
SayIntentions - Keeps getting better with every Friday NOTAM email.
Navigraph Charts - always on my left monitor
Pop Out Panel Manager - FREE, and works great
FSIPanel - Great for setting up landings as well as using slew mode.
Visual Studio Code  (I’ll leave it to Baracus to see if this qualifies, .)

Added all @gdefgfd and SteveKane’s picks (with links, logos and images all sorted).

…didn’t add this one though! A bit out of scope for this list

I would like to suggest Simple Flight Planner (www.simpleflightplanner.com) for your consideration.
