Believe it or not but the speed callouts are not incorporated by Fenix. One of the most requested features, I guess.
Fenix provide no copilot simulation. You can buy 3rd party copilots for Fenix.
Along with many others I’d appreciate the V speed callouts even if that was all we got.
Captains announcements you should be making yourself. I assume you are flying it?
there are some incredible tutorials on youtube if you’re interested.
Fenix got their priorities wrong IMO. They gave us cabin announcements for immersion but not F/O callouts! What is more important for a captain? Hearing a cabin crew talking to passengers or F/O providing important information during take-off? Thankfully there are 3rd party apps that fill this gap but not for free. I use FS2Crew which adds a lot to immersion, especially with animated F/O.
I second this, since I started using FS2Crew it has completely transformed my experience flying. Would highly recommend giving it a try.
I love the cabin announcements but I have to agree, the copilot callouts are more important.
I agree. I don’t fly airliners without FS2Crew anymore. FS2Crew is so well established. There’s no need for Fenix, PMDG, Maddox or HH ATR to add any co-pilot features, they would open a can of worms for themselves. People would just want more and more to be added. I prefer Fenix team to concentrate on A319/A321.
Yeah but seriously, how hard is it for Fenix to simply add those takeoff call outs? Is that really going to significantly slow those other products?
Right, that’s all I’d want, the v speed callouts. That’s what most pilots want. If I was after any more (and I’m currently not) then I’d buy a copilot addon, but there’s no way I’m buying one just to get it to say V1 Rotate.
PMDG B737 already has basic F/O callouts, Just Flight BAe146 and F28 have it too.
I wish the cabin announcements worked for me. Then I would worry about the takeoff call-outs.
Sorry but that looks like a user error. They do work.
They don’t for me. And there isn’t a user error. Have submitted tickets and followed all instructions. And I know what I’m doing.
I’m not saying it’s broken for all, but there is clearly some issue that means it doesn’t work for all either.
The FenixGqlGateway app that produces the sound for the announcements, (the sound doesn’t come from the sim, it comes from that program), just doesn’t appear in any windows sound settings for me, like volume mixer for example. And so I get no announcement sounds.
If that’s so then I apologize.
It’s no problem. No need to apologise.
There are lots of user errors out and about in many things for sure. But a lot of the time with software for some reason it’s just doesn’t play nicely on systems.
For example with this issue, if I disable all audio devices and connect my wireless AirPods, it works perfectly, and I get the announcements. So I know I’m not doing anything wrong with the aircraft or software wise. But if I use my normal headset with everything else disabled and only that activated. This FenixGqlGateway will just not make a sound no matter what.
So there is clearly something weird going.
Weird, yeah. I hope they’ll fix that for you in the next update. Those announcements are the cherry on the cake.
Guys can I confirm that there is also no audio between the pilots and the ground personnel connecting the aircraft tugs ? (I may be missing how to get the audio although I tried playing around with the audio console). For example in the PMDG737 for FSX, the pilot was heard saying “ground crew, please connect the tug and start pushing back” or something along those lines, and then at the end when push back was completed “parking break set, please disconnect, and we’ll see you next time around”.
- edit for clarification: without other add-on(s). Just the Fenix airplane alone.
That’s all done by GSX and yes it’s working for me. I don’t get the same as what you have written though. Certainly “we have a good engine start, please disconnect”. Maybe it’s different if you disable the engine start confirmation in GSX.
Have you considered grabbing the real world A320 FCOMs that are available online for free? If you really want to learn the Airbus, there are even better systems guides available where you can apply actual Airbus knowledge to the simulated version.
I have yes. But you’re replying to the wrong person because I wasn’t asking.
