What is your throttle sitting at? CLIMB(CL) detent or TOGA? You don’t need anything more that CL with A/T enabled to climb to altitude TOGA is just intended for take off/go around. I’ve not seen any engine overheat issues and I use that version of FBW A320NX, and I can climb quite easily with it to FL380.
EDIT. OK, just read that thread on OAT and it sounds like the cause. What a complete mess this sim can be at times.
I have exactly the same problem today. Throttle setting is CL but at 24000ft speed drops to between 140/180!
No icing detected. EGT goes into red. I landed and restarted and exactly same prob. My aircraft is the A330-9 so looks like a shared bug
It’s definitely this OAT bug, just confirmed it myself. The sim is now broken and I can’t fly.
