A320 Tips & Tricks | MSFS 2020

Lately, I have found that the downloader downloads the dev version, but if you run it again, just as soon as it finishes and says everything is okay, I can open the the downloader again and it will say it needs updating. Something is not right as I have deleted and rebooted, installed again, and it will say that it needs updating. I will go to GitHub in the morning and try to find the custom version.

The only difference between the development and development with custom fbw version is that the version is essentially the same with the addition of custom autopilot systems and full support of the Thrustmaster TCA Airbus edition with proper throttle detent positions.

So any updates being done to the development version, the custom version will get it as well.

Known issue from the installer. They’re working on it.

where can i find the website /github for custom fbw version for download.
Please sent a link

Unstable Master Branch Build (with custom FBW)

This version is the same as the regular master/development version, but with the WIP custom fly-by-wire system. Expect issues with flight directors/autopilot if you intend to use this version. No support will be provided via Discord.

Download custom FBW development build here.

IMPORTANT: view warnings and info for the custom FBW build here.

Do you mean the custom version of the default MSFS 320 made by FlyByWire simulation or the FlyByWire simulations mod with custom fly by wire system?

hahaha, yeah, the terminology here is so confusing.. Either way, the custom fly by wire system is the way to go.. so much better anyway.

thx

In that case you can use thin links in @BachFrosch85590’s post.

thx great will do so

another silly question by me.
Is VNAV working?
is yes. How?

Yes it is.
Dial in your altitude you want to climb to, click on the top of the button.
The PFD annunciator should then show it.
It will not automatically descend at the TOD point though.
It will (for the most part) respect constraints.

Thnx for the info. I was hoping for a tod to landing. Maybe in the near future. Back to x-plane then.
LOL. Just kidding

You should follow them on their discord.
You can ask and get an answer if it isn’t already there.

I’ve set VS 1000 fpm but when below 10000 ft VS was just 800 fpm although I increased VS to 1500 fpm, is that known issue, I’m using FBW latest version.

You will have constraints as to what speeds you can fly below a certain level ie in U.K. you cannot exceed 250 knots below 10.000 ft. I believe your FMCDU is adhering to those constraints when your in managed mode via the Auto Pilot, happy to be corrected

That makes sense. Because if the aircraft is maintaining a certain slow speed on descent, that means the aircraft can’t descend with a higher V/S because that would risk the airspeed to go over the allowed limits. So in order to keep the airspeed, they need to slow down the descent V/S.

This is why I don’t like fiddling around V/S mode. If I need to climb/descent, I just set my target altitude, and press the knob to have it Climb/Descent on managed mode, or Open Climb/Descent in selected mode. No need to set the V/S, let the computer calculate the optimal rate.

Exactly, I’m flying in UK, how to know constraints in MCDU?

In vertical speed mode it should not take any MCDU constraints into consideration, you are referring to the managed climb or descent modes. In V/S mode the autopilot follows the selected vertical speed (within the normal flight envelope) nothing else.

There’s no speed constraints being implemented in the MCDU as of yet. What @FlashedUnicorn1 was referring to was on managed speed in the A320, the aircraft automatically slows down to 250 knots when flying below 10,000 ft. It seems to be the same airspeed limit everywhere in the sim. Not just in the UK.
