ofcourse
Very helpful but Iâm still confused. Watching the videos by âReal CRJ Pilotâ, he states that in RL, they fly the approach in âgreen needlesâ with the LOC selected as the navigation mode.
Thatâs how I fly it in the v2 too.
That would be method for V1 stated above, and is still usable in V2. V2 new method just seems to have been enhanced a bit for those that like more automation. I canât possibly comment on how accurate to IRL it is though, but itâs useful to be aware of in the sim.
According to a video Iâve seen with a real CRJ pilot your first method is how they (some american regional airline) usually do it IRL.
Thatâs correct. You should still set the NAV source to NAV.
So can we summarise this by saying V2 has a new âenhancedâ but not necessarily realistic ILS tuning automated method, that isnât there IRL but has been added for those who donât like manually entering an ILS frequency or rotating a dial to change nav sources.
No, the automatic method is realistic, and is there IRL. What happens is that the automatic method is also not very reliable IRL, in other words sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnât so most pilots prefer to use the manual method that always works.
If the automatic method is also not very reliable in the sim then it will be completely realistic.
Thatâs interesting to know. Thanks.
V1 liveries are not directly compatible with V2âŠI would stick to using the ones provided by Aerosoft or download ones from flightsim.to that are marked as compatible with V2. Supposedly, you can convert V1 liveries to V2, but I havenât tried itâŠhttps://www.reddit.com/r/VATSIM/comments/1jsfb39/converting_existing_liveries_for_aerosoft_crj_v2/?rdt=45103
Guys and gals, if you having trouble flying the V2 CRJ, I recommend checking out the YourSimCFI channel on YT. He does live streams and videos on V2, and is also a real world, CRJ FO and a beta tester for it as well. Iâve learned enough from him, that Iâm flying properly and really enjoying the CRJ V2. The only issue I still have is the really heavy rotation required to lift offâŠBut that and an improved flight model is coming, hopefully soonâŠ
Does anyone connected to the Marketplace know when it will be released to owners who originally purchased the CRJ there?
As I fly this new version, a few random comments -
Properly trimmed, the aircraft pretty much rotates and flies itself off the runway right around Vr speed. Is this normal?
Still having issues with it blowing past the localizer.
You can push the yaw damper, mach trim buttons all you want, they remain dark. I believe Verson 1 used to have them illuminate when they were off. You used to also get annunciator warnings on the EICAS screen.
I havenât messed with the HUD that much but I recall that it is supposed to have multiple modes, include cruise, ILS and a couple of others. Did these get replicated in V2?
It is so easy to get behind this aircraft. The lack of autothrottle is a real (but somewhat fun) challenge. More than once Iâve been head down in the cockpit and then noted speed had bled off to nearly stall speed.
Hoping Thursday but donât knowâŠ
Doesnât seem anyone knows for sure. No info anywhere.
If âanyoneâ has information about CRJV2 and Marketplace..please update. Surprised Aerosoft didnt provide some type of workaround for those of us who supported their CRJ release 4-5 years ago.
I really donât know how MS can allow this to happen without even saying âsorryâ.
There is a new CRJ update but you canât get it if you bought the plane from the MSFS Marketplace. Such a disservice is really hard to believe.
Unfortunately it has been happening for years nowâŠ
Meaning you canât get it at all, or we just have to wait until itâs pushed to the MP?
MP owners have to wait for it to be published to MP, as always. Allegedly the ingestion time in 2024 is going to be better - I wonât judge them on that yet though as theyâre still working through a very hefty backlog just to get the Marketplace into a steady-state.
It all comes down to good community engagement and marketing. If itâs true to life that it doesnât always capture the ils then they should make a thing out of this. âThe CRJ v2 includes all the quirks of the real aircraft, making for a more dynamic and interesting experience. Be sure to check out these guides on capturing ils, etcâŠ.â
