actual thats not quite true, we (all developers) could create our own AI system, fully standalone from the internal one, but that would require a hell lot of time… (SimConnect already provides the basic features for that) And with our external injection tool we already have a bit more controll over the AI compared to the internal AI system.
I think people would generally be happy if it was explanied to them that if when using Real Time Online mode in FS that setting Ground Traffic Density to some value (I have this set at 70) will fill their airport up with liveried planes. It’s honestly not apparent from the documentation, which only really recommends using AI Offline mode and setting ground Traffic Density to zero. I think both modes should be spelled out along with recommended ground Traffic Density settings for each mode.
I personally hate default FS AI traffic and their weird behaviour and only used Real Time Online traffic but I really don’t mind having a random mix of liveried traffic at the gates. It still looks wonderful, and live traffic still continues to arrive at each airport.
It’s a great product thank you. So much so that I haven’t even wanted to try the other options. I prefer a simple fire and forget and it’s exceptionally good at that, and then I can spend more time flying.
Having owned this for a few days, I wanted to say its great! I finally now have some company at the gate / cargo ramp, as opposed to virtually empty airports.
Highly recommended, easy to install with no complexity whatsoever, exactly what I wanted.
Would you do me a favor and read the manual again? We advise Ground Traffic Density set to zero as it is the only way to avoid the sim from using random liveries. If you prefer it at 70% that is fine by us, but it means you will see a lot of liveries that are not suitable.
I love the product! Bring this to Xbox guys and your gonna be on top with that crowd of users !
I know that this is the case already. What I’m saying is others may not, so anyone using Real Time Online with Ground Traffic Density at zero just see empty airports and may be complaining because they don’t realise that Ground Traffic Density controls that. Many people may not care that the liveries are random in that mode, I certainly don’t, I just like seeing liveried planes at the gates instead of default FS ones. I’m sure I’m not alone.
“ If you prefer it at 70% that is fine by us, but it means you will see a lot of liveries that are not suitable.”
But is an southwest A330 or DHL / UPS A380 also “not suitable” anyway ???
As do we all. At this moment we believe offline traffic is simply the better option. When online traffic is fully stable (and the user understands that this means even a major hub can be rather empty at certain times of the day) it will be a better option.
This is interesting. All I want is filled airports with liveried planes.
Flying AI aicraft and ‚correct‘ liveries are unimportant to me.
Does this work on all airports or only on some airports ?
I have looked into static AI addons but they only work for a small number of airports.
It works on all airports that carry airliners of various types. I’ve yet to see an empty one. If you want to check static traffic at any airport to see aircraft density without the Simple Traffic add on, just set Ground Traffic Density to 70. If you see planes at the airport gates, then these will be static liveried planes at the gates with ST installed. The only complaint I have is that default MS FS Traffic has sharp pointed noses for example and Simple Traffic doesn’t (can’t?) change that, but with the nice liveries you really don’t notice as much. There is also a nice wide variety of liveries (and ever growing) in ST.
Keep in mind with Live Traffic on you will see planes arrive and taxi to gates too.
This will be a massive seller when it arrives on Xbox I think too. I say that as a previous owner of one.
Best thing though is it’s an install and forget add on.
Zurich LSZH with Simple Traffic and ground traffic density at 70.
Glasgow EGPF with Simple Traffic, real time online ON, and ground traffic density at 70. The Easyjet in front is Live traffic arriving, the rest is static ground traffic.
Example: Zurich (again) with Simple Traffic, real time online ON, ground traffic density at 70. You can see Live traffic arriving here too.
Thank you. This sounds very useful for my needs, I will purchase it once it hits the marketplace
May I ask if anyone knows when this lovely add-on will come to the box?
I‘ve seen this post in Aerosoft Forum.
There is no release date communicated yet but they are in discussions with MS - it will come but not sure when
All airports. But for the list of airports noted here: FAQ - Simple Traffic - AEROSOFT COMMUNITY SERVICES there are added ‘schedules’ that make it more likely every livery you see is the correct one.
As others noted we have no idea when it will be available in the Marketplace, but we got a rather well-organized shop and an install system that allows you to install without even having to insert your serial.
Thank you
I fly on both PC and Xbox and if there is even a slight chance this also makes it to Xbox at some point in the future, I will buy at Marketplace to avoid a double purchase. Looking forward to it
We will send it to Microsoft this week or next week.
Great news, looking forward to this one
AIG is excellent, currently it is in beta testing so there may be some teething problems. Those guys at AIG have worked very very hard to give the Flight sim community for free, a great piece of AI software.
I have been testing it for a while and I am very impressed.
AI in fs2020 is buggy but that is for Asobo to fix. For all those who do not like beta testing just go and buy simple traffic!
And with AIG live traffic fix you will see them take off as well, even with Simple Traffic.
