ok think i got it - so I need highlight all the airlines - then click only the OCI bulk button to download them all - the skip manual download check box I should leave unchecked (if i tick it I might get missing liveries)?
Final question is what are the best ingame traffic settings to get it working optimally?
Despite airlines being confusingly called flight plans, I eventually managed to install British Airways, although the One Click Installer did nothing and I was forced to do a one hour manual download, followed by a 20 minute unpacking and installation process. If that has to be repeated for each individual airline I guess I will not be doing any sim flying for some time.
Anyway on the plus side I have seen a couple of aircraft actually taxi and take off, something I have not witnessed since sim update 4, but still lots doing go-arounds and aircraft circling the airport like bees around a honey pot.
What really confuses me is that although I have nothing other than this AIG mod in my Community folder, and nothing other than the default MASOBO aircraft and liveries in the sim, when I spawn to London Heathrow I see the following airlines in addition to British Airways:
Iberia (One World livery)
Delta (Sky Team livery)
BEA (British European Airways - Defunct since 1974)
Air China (Star Alliance livery)
Where did these come from? I never installed them.
I had a random aircraft/livery showing up at Gatwick, I disabled multiplayer in the options and it disappeared.

I am working through it today. I was gonna provide an incomplete VMR today in AIGs discord. This will by no means match all available aircraft, just the ones commonly used on VATSIM in Europe and NA.

This entire process is frustrating.
Starting over:
First, which one do we download and setup (AIGTC or AIG manager)?
Second, where are these so called directories located? Which folders?
Download both, one is a downloader for the aircraft and the other injects them into MSFS.
The directories will be wherever you extract the two downloaded files to.

Download AIG manager first open the pdf file, download aigtc. Unzip both files take note where you unzipped AIGTC. Then load AIG manager and follow the tuturial PDF file, in the AIG manager folder. AIGTC is what you need to inject the traffic when you load the sim, there is also a pdf manual in AIGTC folder.
must you keep both “apps” open while using the sim. sorry if a silly question
Not 100% sure think its only AigTC you need, manager is the installer for all the Airlines. AIGTC is the app to inject the traffic once the sim is loaded. So my asumption you only need AIGtc loaded.

yep that because some of the models are behind login, simply ignore script errors, register account and download them (its free)
