The instrument updates are not linked to the actual software releases so no they have not been uploaded as yet. Had an email issue that’s slowed things a little but that is now resolved so should be soon.
Is there any way to find out which of my download AM gauges have been updated or do I need to just randomly download them again and check?
They should update automatically unless you have done one of these things. This doesn’t stop you doing a manual download if you wish.
Cloned the instrument such that it’s UUID has changed.
Turned off the auto download option in settings.
Altered the version number to be higher than the new version.
AM4.1 update:
Anyone experiencing problems with G1000NXi panel and the ALT knob? Stopped working for me. Tried to downgrade to AM 4.0 for test but couldn¨’t get it to work.
Also a problem with pressing the HDG button. Now it moves the BUG to 0/360 deg. Before it sat the bug to the actual heading.
I had issues with the Garmin G5. Re-initializing the software seem to fix it. If you have not done so already get the latest plugin. Hope this helps.
Updating plugins did the trick. Working again. Thanks for the tip.
Brilliant - any chance you could point us to the updated gauge when it goes up? Cheers!
I’ve just uploaded this months batch of instruments so sometime soon they should be live on the Sim Innovations community store. This is a manual process so be patient. Give the GI-106 CDI version 209 a try and let me know how it goes.
I just noticed a small bug in that recent upload which I’ve now fixed ready for the next upload but it only affects the to/from flag under certain criteria. The needle fix is still ok.
Sling - just noticed that Version 2.09 is now up and working to switch from tracking NAV 1 to GPS. Haven’t had a chance yet to play around enough to notice the to/from glitch, but this is already a huge improvement and great to know that will be sorted with the next update. Thanks very much for fixing this! Now just need RealityXP to be compatible with MSFS 2020 and I can purge my computer of FSX! Thanks again!
Good news. Sorry it took a little while to go live but at least it worked as expected. Thanks for the feedback.
Thank You @Crunchmeister71 and Simstrumentation for adding yet another level of realism to my simming. I just added the G1000 NXi overlay to my setup and Wow!!. Check out the post on my Facebook page and YouTube Channel.
I’m new here and already using Air Manager.
Who can tell me how I can download and implement new free instruments, available from the Internet.
Thank you.
There is another Simstrumentation thread if you search … that has the link to Github where you can download instruments.
To get the ones that come with the app > select the tab create/edit > select download then add in what you wish. There is a filter for the game to stop you import instruments that only work with other games.
The app forum is here.
Outside of what’s available in the sim natively via the community store, you can check out www.simstrumentation.com where our group posts free instruments for a wide variety of MSFS-specific planes.
Thinking about picking up the Garmin G5, worth it?
Works with any plane?
cheers! and thanks for all the work, looking foward for more instruments.
ps: also, how do i turn “transparent” mode for the Garmin G1000? cant find a way here.
the screen on it stays black and i cant have the pop up window over it.
I use the G5. Works great. And I use it in quite a lot of my layouts.
Just keep in mind you have to configure the different speeds Vx, Vy, Va, Vg, etc for each specific plane you fly. It’s a bit tedious, but it’s a 1 time thing for each plane.
This is my C310R layout using the G5.
Nice! i flying more the 414 than the 310R. wanna use with it.
What you mean configure? on the air manager?
also do you have any tip for how to make the G1000 transparent so i can have the screen behind it?
tried here a few ways no success
When you build a panel for a particular plane, you go into the G5’s properties and it will let you set the values for the different reference speeds to match the plane you’re flying.
The G1000 is transparent. If you have a background image for your panel, you need to make a hole in the image and save it as a PNG with transparency so you can see through it. |
Perfectly transparent. The G1000 is behind the AM panels.
