[Aircraft] Flyable Goose (of the avian variety) - Update 5 (fixed gear damage, more animations)

No, not really. I just swapped the external model of the SDK sample aircraft.

The wings actually flap. I used the goose model from the game files.

Update: Got texture working
Update 2: Created a ‘proper’ package for it. Tried to make it more goose like.
Update 3: Even more goose like. As goose like as a 4 times scaled 100lb goose running on a 1 piston engine can be. Quite fun dealing with crosswinds. Also you can land on water now!
Update 4: Added a bunch of animations, see video below.

What a rollercoaster of emotions.

  1. Came here to see a Grumman Goose in Flight Sim 2020 “Sweet!”
  2. Saw a picture of an actual goose “What the??”
  3. Realized that a flyable goose is actually pretty neat.

110 knot flying goose.

What navaids does the goose support?

well, it’s nice, but how about flying elephant?

Everything the DA62 does

Can be done, but it will look pretty stupid.

But if you are talking goosephant, hmm.

Is there a place to download this?

Be good for a laugh. :+1:t2:

If you could add a horn that sounds like a goose would be even better.

Download link, please oh please? This would be a hoot (or honk) on group flights. I’m guessing that it would show up for others due to the in-game resources aspect.

Not really, but here is the current package. It is now based off the SimpleAircraft sample (think that is based off E330). No more interior. Increased the size by 4.

Have no idea. I didnt change any guids, so it might show up? Let me know if you find out.

Edit: I cant seem to get the texture right. It looks fine in blender, but nowhere I put it, makes it load .:expressionless:

How delightful!

Am curious to see it land at 90 knots, water landings too, with bombing missions at city parks!

Loading it up right now.

Formation flying anyone ?

Really imaginative. How about doing something cartoonish that appeals to small kids (4 to 7 - boys and girls).
Could even be payware.
Dad and grandad can’t get potential simmers started early enough.

It flies exactly like you’d expect a goose to fly. No panels for those that have built cockpits. Looking forward to springing this on a group flight.

only if the elephant does not wave its ears

Isn’t that the whole point

This is simply fantastic! Canadair Regional Goose.

Leaves me wanting more. Is there a way to remove the engine sound? Can you set a preview image? I would seriously pay a few bucks for this.

That looks like the Stellenbosch area. If so you should probably try getting an Egyptian Goose rather than a Canada Goose…

And with a name like dronkeyklong you MUST be from the Western Cape!

Very creative: I commend you

Am I the only one who expected the Spruce Goose?

That thing was barely flyable IRL, perfect fit for MSFS and its bouncing and wobbling engine.

I agree with Licho52. I was kind of hoping I would see this bad boy. It “is” huge!
