Then again, the OP is already running a regular 7950x, so I would actually just hang tight until we see what the 9000x3d chips deliver.
Here you go.
Running the sim on CCD0 w/v-cache and other misc tasks on CCD1 so non- v-cached cores do get utilized during gaming as per the youtube video above.
That video is only about resolving the core parking issue, not an increase of performance. When Gamers Nexus benchmarked the 7950x3d, they already checked out the core parking problems and did their benchmarks ensuring games were running on the v-cache ccd. In short, the fix only resolved low performance problems for those affected by improper core parking, and did not increase performance of a properly running 7900/7950x3d in gaming.
Yes, that is correct as while the non-v-cached cores are great for productivity tasks they do not run many games as well as the v-cached cores. There are always tradeoffs with technology and no single cpu is best for all use cases.
What about 2024? Anyone using 9950x or 7950x, 7900x in msfs 24?
I’m thinking to get the AMD R9 7900x, currently in Spain it has got aa good price (around 390€) while the rest are more expensive 7950x (530€) and 9950x (810€)
Did you buy any of them?
Thank you so much @kbA7187
I bought the 7950X it runs very good, I also have a 7800x3d but I think there’s not much difference. The sim in its state for now runs really bad with a lot of stutters on airports, rwy, taxis, finals etc. So for now its difficult to say what cpu runs the best in this sim.
X3d in that case is not relevant for 24 I guess.
