Landing on hard decks is a really great and needed addition. I have seen also marshallers at some of the helipads on the moving cargo ships. Looking forward to see more stuff like this.
That´s a nice pack!
Cheers

At the moment they’re not submerged but they are hard enough to spot as it is
Hopefully Microsoft’s next satellite data update will improve the imagery. They seemed neater with the previous set of satellite data. Luckily they update it fairly regularly
SU9 really impacted the effects on our ships but SU10 is working really well across all of our products now (so take another look at the Virgin Islands and Balearics etc ). In the meantime we improved the models and of course got busy working on Hawaii and our other upcoming sceneries.
Looking forward to seeing some footage/screenshots of all of your attempts to land on the moving hard decks !!
Chris
How are you getting on with the landings @geloxo ?
Nice, this works pretty well. I have landed on moving decks in the past on other simulators so I may be already used to it but this can be an extra challenge for other players that I think it´s really good to improve the skills.
I still don´t see landing areas in all of the cargo ships or cruisers that have helipads for instance (not all seem to be enabled yet). I have all your packs installed. And I like the small detail of adding the marshallers there.
Cheers
Any plans to do other Iowa class battleships? I’ve been aboard the USS New Jersey and I’d love to see it in game. There is the USS Becuna (Balao Class Sub), and the USS Olympia(WWI Flagship Cruiser) across the river. Thanks.
Not yet but thanks for the suggestion @WaldoP3pper
Question: My previous Seafront simulation purchases were through Marketplace but I purchased Hawaii through Orbx and I see the ships with guns “hidden” even though I installed the Core library from Orbx. I assume it’s ok to mix/match Orbx with Marketplace addons using just the core library from Orbx (not Marketplace).
Now if only one of the ships were an aircraft carrier so I could land the Corsair or Hellcat
Hi @WasabiDadSFO Did you uninstall the Marketplace version? You should be able to run with just the Orbx copy and see the guns. Note it also needs a reboot of the sim to take effect.
Surprised to already see an update for this. What was wrong with the routes?
Hi @RandyFlagg9653 - Just a minor scheduling error on one of the leisure boat routes. A quick fix.
We have just released a big update for this scenery via Orbx and it is in Microsoft’s queue for release on the Marketplace.
Check out the details and screenshots here:
Excellent, I’ve been flying around there a lot and the landable ships adds an entire mini-game and much more to do with helis. Of course now with moving LHA’s, should be fun for some STOL aircraft too. Although I’m sure I can land the Shock Ultra now on the transport 4X size heli pad. On the GB side scenery, you get some ski jump goodness.
The LHA is another challenge altogether. Get within 2-4’ of any part of the island and it’s considered a collision, not an easy task just to taxi back around for takeoff…
So I just bought this tonight from Orbx and installed it, but for some reason I’m seeing the Missouri’s main guns covered (as shown for the Marketplace version in the screenshots above) and the 5" battery barrels are just missing. Even the smaller naval vessels are missing the 5" deck guns.
This is not at all what is shown in the manual available from the Orbx site, either.
EDIT: DISREGARD, USER ERROR!
Turns out I had a previous copy of the Seafront Simulations Core library installed from the Marketplace from forever ago with the idea that someday I might buy a vessel pack from the Marketplace, but I never did. Once I deleted that version (which is one revision lower than the one which came wiith the Hawaiian Islands pack) the problem disappeared.
I do have two criticisms of the BB63 model, however, one minor and one somewhat larger. First, I suggest the gray paint seems a little too white, or perhaps a little too washed out. Not sure if this is a texturing thing or if it’s solely coloration. The second, somewhat larger issue, is the guns of the turrets seem too flat, at 0 degree elevation. Photos of Missouri in Pearl Harbor show her 16" guns elevated at about 30 degrees. If the model could be adjusted to raise the barrels of the main battery a bit, that would be great.
Still and all, this is an excellent addition to the Hawaii area and in addition to the atmosphere added by seeing all the boats and ships around, landing on a moving vessel adds all kinds of fun.
This weekend’s challenge (for me) is going to be the Harrier.
Didn’t realize the moving cruiser was a Ticonderoga class, not the easiest deck to land on.
I see this has an update now. Supposed to be a ton more traffic. Heading home tonight can’t wait to see what’s doin’ I REALLY love this mod, eventually the island will see some scenery love, but it’s just so much fun goofing around with all the ships.
Be sure to turn up the water traffic sliders in your sim Traffic options. There are a ton of sailboats, motor yachts, cargo ships, and military traffic around Pearl Harbor. If you like VFR flying around Hawaii, it’s a must have, it seems to me.
About 12 miles south of the island there’s an entire LHA battle group on the move… Was hopping from ship to ship. Now instead of the one heli carrier two cruisers also leave port. If you play for an hour there will be 10+ moving warships in proximity to Honolulu. The moving OHPs are fun to land on the postage stamp. The cutters are also landable. Funny how it gets fairly easy even though I keep cranking up the weather. Testament to how good the G2 is, where it just goes where you think it should be
I managed to land on a moving one exiting the Ford Island base. Was pretty entertaining and requiring some concentration but went well.
Good how they fixed it that you stick to the deck but I wonder what trick they used to make it work. I’ve seen other devs say it’s not possible but clearly it sort of is.
The only glitch is when the ship turns (rotates) your landed copter continues to face the same “compass” direction as when you touched down, so it looks like you “turn” the opposite way to the ship. Still stays on the deck though, so it’s “acceptable”.
