Do you mean 29 minutes? 29 seconds to get to FL170 is fighter jet performance ![]()
Where did you got those figures from, the real one does not do 1200 ft/min. Close to the ground it will, but around FL170 it will do 500 ft/min at best. But the main point is correct, it is underpowered.
Edit: from the tables below around 16.5 minutes (interpolated) from SL to 17.000 ft while climbing at 170 kts. So average climb rate will be 1000 ft/min. In reality it will be 2000 ft/min right after take-off, quickly dropping off in the lower part of the atmosphere. At FL170 you will probably be doing something like 500 ft/min. Reaching the twin engine ceiling of FL200 with 300 ft/min only.
My bad. Yes sorry. Not even sure my Citation X could achieve that.
That would be about 35,000fpm which might be just a bit uncomfortable for the passengers unless they were trained by NASA ![]()
This is the source of the 17.5 minutes to FL170 at MTOW. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1N8ISeC5gmJHqje6lkFkf2LnwtKrnFno8/view?usp=drive_link
Same here. Half an hour to FL160 and can’t accelerate past 180 KIAS. Yesterday during the previous flight had the same experience.
I think that this is now a well documented bug.
170 knots, at FL140. It is arguably too underpowered
Any feedback from the dev on this? Very annoying bug..Thank you !
Feels to me like this only affects the 72-600. The 42-600 (non STOL) seems overpowered by comparison, getting to FL140 in 6 minutes and cruising 10kts faster than the auto set airspeed
Almost like the values for the two were swapped if the smaller one feels overpowered and the larger one feels underpowered.
ah..might be. havent tried the 42 yet
Same issue, this needs to be fixed. Killing the fun completely.
yeah please fix this
So seems like it’s actually spot-on or no?
What temperature though? Big factor.
Hey folks,
This topic has now been bug-logged and should be fixed in a future build. I don’t have a time estimate on when this build will be available at the moment, but will share that information if I’m able to!
Thanks for all of the reports to help us identify this issue.
This was related to the climb rate, it won’t do 1200 ft/min or whatever was mentioned. It will do that close to the ground but climb rate quickly goes down the drain. On average, the climb rate up to FL170 should be around 1000 ft/min, meaning 2000 ft/min after take-off and 500 ft/min reaching FL170.
To be clear the ATR 72 in sim performs far from those numbers.
