Audio Stutters In Menu / Globe And On Ground / During Flight

Re create the folder and restart the sim, you’ll be back at 16 GB (you can increase it)

For me personally, the sim is a flop. I won’t buy it again when it’s released. It’s a waste of money.

I have tried all of the solutions presented in this thread. My last resort was to update my sound drivers. I am using a MSI MAG B650 with onboard audio. I updated my sound drivers today (Realtek HD Universal Driver) to version 6.4.0.2413. Downloaded it from the vendor and installed it. I have been testing multiple scenarios for hours now. The audio stutters are completely gone at my end. To all of you who have problems with audio stuttering, my suggestion is to update your audio drivers from your vendor. Please let me know if this helps.

Once again, don’t jump on conclusions…

A lot of tricks seem to work at first but the issue often re-appear later. (it can be days later)

(Regarding your “solution”, my realtek audio drivers are already up to date and I still experience the audio stutters, and I don’t even use the integrated motherboard audio)

fully agree. It seems to be a deeper issue and sometimes it is fine for days and then it happens out of nowhere.

I’m convinced it’s an issue with how the sim deals with the streamed data, when you start to hear stutters while loading the flight. Close the sim and restart the sim a few times until it’s better.

I noticed that when I experiment those audio stutters at the beginning they will stay until the end. On the other hand when I don’t experiment those at the beginning it seems to stay nice until the end.

I still have an occasional stutter flying over demanding scenery, but it’s pure graphical. The sound seems not to be affected anymore, for me at least. Crossing fingers that it stays this way. If the stutters come back, I’ll let you know.

The rolling cache is really badly implemented by Asobo…

Somehow the mainthread also depends on the RC state,

Disabling RC is surely worth it. Thanks for the trick on how to achieve that on 2024.

I’m wondering if anything will change in Beta 3 now that there’s an option to download the streamed data.

For me in SU3 beta. The audio popping still occurred in CRZ.

I’m on SU2, RC disabled. The issue is there one day and another it is not. This leads me to believe it must be server related. Might have something to do with player numbers but most likely there is something wrong with the streaming.

EDIT: Found something interesting you guys might wanna try. Under AppData → Roaming → NVIDIA there is a folder called ComputeCache. Deleting the contents has made the issue disappear for me. But I have to delete it every two or three sim starts or it reappears. I will have to test this more but it looks promising.

Is this only on MSFS 2024?

I’ve been having this issue on MSFS 2020 also, which leads me to think it’s an server issue both on 2024 and 2020.

The problem comes and goes, somes flights on 2020 is butter smooth, on the next day without changing a thing, Its the opposite. I also noticed It happens often when the server load is high, when there are many players online.

For me the stutter and audio crackle on cruise are killing the experience.

It could be also related to Windows 11 24H2, since i didn’t noticed it before the update.

I was curious about this earlier in the topic. I did a poll. It’s much more prevalent on 24H2 and AMD but does also affect Intel and 23H2 users. See here:
