interesting. my elevator trim bindings work fine for that they’re supposed to do but once i enable the afcs they no longer work.
just to be clear, you’re able to control pitch with the elevator trim once you’ve enabled autopilot?

Ah, no with the AP turned on the trim is controlled by the AP so it doesn’t work.
I’m not flying now but you would have to test if VS reference up / down work for the AP, I would think it works as it is using the default AP.
oooh, good idea. i hadn’t thought of that but it might work. cool idea!
honestly, i am just hopeful that we’re getting a patch soon to address a lot of the really buggy systems that released with this bird. it’s so wonderful to fly i would hate for it to be hamstrung for long periods of time between fixes
I did not know that, but again it was info given by a Danish pilot and the plane as standard not “retrofittet” Per a countrys need, and as you are not Danish and our Hercules are not being used as search and rescue and so forth i would claim that your statement of calling what i wrote as false is simply wrong
An interesting aircraft. In AP mode it has a strange 10 degrees of bank applied? I assume there is no (Simple) working NAV, at the moment? I am navigating using compass/HDG mainly.
Condition levers, do they need adjusting in cruise?
FPS hit a bit heavy at times?
Would be nice if we could have a bit more information in figures for TO, cruise and LDG. Checklist when flying a bit sparse.
Thanks.
Simple NAV in the EFB would be excellent.
That’s correct the Radio nav is not implemented yet as per the manual so you are flying correctly for now until it is implemented.
I’ll post the manual below in case you haven’t read it.

Sorry I might have mistaken him for a dev. my bad.
no apologies necessary! i was hoping someone from azurpoly would chime in and give us early adopters some good news.
Didn’t fly a SAR mission in my whole life… but the FMS in the aircraft had the option. I had two retrofits by the time I flew the H. First was only the GPS capable CDU and then conversion to glass cockpit. Danish Air Force had the 4572, 87, 99. I highly doubt they flew them oldskool ways through Europe… “i believe they fly by vor and tacan assisted by a map. That is at least what i understand from Danish c-130 pilots”… by the time they had them. Been in the cockpit with the later operator they transferred them to about 1,5 years later so I highly doubt they had the time to retrofit them.
Relax, I didn’t say you are wrong but was very strange for me and wanted to share my opinion.
You are right and wrong.
The manual says radio navigation is not implemented, yet it works if you press the radio button and/or using default MSFS commands.
It seems the plane at this point is just using the default MSFS AP system so the default AP functions will probably work like nav or VS changing.
To be clear:
The manual says TACAN works but it doesn’t.
The manual says Radio Nav doesn’t work but it does.
So far no single word from the devs so we are here for a long ride. Patience.
Strange I can’t seem to get it to work. I can tune to VOR but can’t follow it unless I use the heading bug and follow manually. ADF seems bugged as it takes multiple key presses to input and when it does the nav needle freaks out as if it’s stuck in a loop. And yes, unsuccessful with TACAN too.
I’ll have another go Luis maybe I’m doing something silly.
Yes, I agree it would be nice to get some feedback. I did read somewhere that they have a Facebook page that they are quite active on.
I don’t do FB so I’m out of luck there. A quick message on here would be ideal.
I read the FB page but there’s not much there. Some things are “planned”.
Something good: The manual was updated and now we have a lot of performance tables. Takeoff speed, takeoff distance, cruise settings, etc. They just dumped the tables from the real plane manual which is good because the model is following the real plane figures.
I’ll try to link directly to the manual:
Thanks Luis👍
This is wrong. It isn’t working, even on default commands, as far as I can tell.
I think there’s an issue with the aileron trim (using keyboard) - even with the ball centred, it’s still wanting to bank too much to the right. If I take it off AP it will slowly go full deflection over to the right. Flying Iron implemented an aileron trim on their EFB tablet for the Spitfire and it was much easier maintaining straight level, when not on AP - just a thought. Hopefully will be fixed, either way.
Not yet. I’ve ordered one for 20 Bucks now as it becomes more and more necessary. A shortcut for a cam i.E. which gives me a view out of the ramp when doing stupid things with the Transall is one urgent necessity
@ringkurier oh man! You have to get the whole setup, mouse keyboard and yoke!
It will pick up the signal but the autopilot will not navigate to the signal. So technically you can navigate with heading mode using VOR/ILS but no the autopilot doesn’t Nav
the autopilot will not navigate to the signal
this does not match my experience. i can tune a vor, set my course on the inbound radial and hit the radio button on the a/p panel and the plane will fly that course quite faithfully, every time.

Interesting, I’ve tried the radio/Nav button and have never had it turn on. Are you catching ILS and glideslope as well? I’m on Xbox btw
