I hoped for a fix for all MSFS-included Boeings, as they all seem to share the same GS capturing problem with VNAV on.
All Boeings have been fixed for SU5; the Boeings aside from the 737 go through a different submission process as they are fully non-Asobo packages, so they will appear by the time SU5 is fully released.
Great. I know they follow a separate path for the aircraft updates since they dropped the 787 changes just when SU4 came out. I guess we have to wait.
On my morning weather flight from Reno to SFO I tried to not disengage the VNAV after engaging APP and the 787 went right down the GS unfortunately at 237 Knots and I could not adjust it since it was still on VNAV. Disengaged VNAV and all went fine.
If anyone wants to fly this nice flight over Lake Tahoe here is the flight plan:
I fly this at 16000’ in the VNAV tab in the aircraft (must be entered). Then it follows the descent profile and the ARCHI STAR to 28R ay SFO. You can follow this evolution nicely in the profile display in the 787-10.
Well looks like this MAY be fixed is SU5. Ran two approaches in which VNAV turned off automatically. I lost the GS on one of these, so needs more testing….
It looks like they took out the profile of the descent in the display? This is really a loss…
Please let us know what your results are. Can’t test myself rn.
Well, the good news is that the transition between VNAV and the ILS is now smooth but I seem to lose the GS at about 1500’… can you try the GS on some other approaches?
I have repeated the transition a couple times but also have seem the GS error more than once.
See the magena diamond is way HIGH but this is CAT III… has autoland on and it landed in the bushes on another ILS yesterday.
Well have checked this out now on multiple approaches and I think SU5 has cured this BUG.
As noted, there is not something funny on the auto throttle… but this still needs to be explored.
