Best joystick?

To be fair not. I was in a circle of “buying, testing and maybe sending back”. Circle stopped at the Thrustmaster

Both of my Virpil Devices have more buttons and switches than I can program for things needed in MSFS Sim do not DCS but fly in do FSX and X-Plane 11. I always turn on the lights with mouse. The Virpil TM-3 has a 5-way mode switch, which gives you 30 more button pushes, and those can be programed in a variety of ways. See “Jons Gaming and Tech YouTube videos for examples on programing”. Remember the best is always the cheapest, quality cannot be beaten. The VFX grip on the mongoose base also is excellent quality, again, more buttons than I can use. Modeled exactly after Flight Control’s in F-14 Aircraft, excellent device. Had over year, it has not ever given me one iota of issue, works every time I start a sim. If all you want is a joystick, the VKB Gladiator mentioned above is more than likely your best choice. Happy Flying.

Hi,
I too own the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.I used to fly on the PC version and was very comfortable using it.
Surprisingly it does not work with xbox.
I understand that xbox does not support the joystick.
But few youtube videos said that it can be configured the way we want.
Cuurently I am facing issue of detecting the joystick when a connect the USB with the Xbox.
Can you suggest way around.

Periodically the MS FFP joystick shows up in goodwill or a thrift store. Also, you can try Ebay and see if any on there. I had one, donated it, because it needs a serial port (think 9 pin) to work, modern PCs don’t have that port any longer. Might be an adapter on Amazon, just have not checked, since it’s gone. But it was an excellent made unit, and never lost any of its spring tension.
Virpil is in Vilnius, Lithuania, I think. Cannot remember if that is “Russia” or not. Best quality stuff going now. Nothing in US made here, all China, and poor quality, plastic.

VKB is actually made in China now, they bought out the original Russian operation.

Good quality, I bought a Gunfighter + Kosmosima + SEM panel the other month. And I bought the FSM-GA panel this month as a standalone box.

Kept the default strong springs, good feeling, very precise, best part is all axes are Hall Effect, no more jitters from worn out potentiometers.

I’m still using my trusty Saitek AV8R-01 from my FSX days . It’s got 5 buttons, 4 - 2 way switches, hat, pov dial, 2 separate throttle levers, Z axis rudder + 2 profile switches.

From time to time, I consider getting a new Yoke/Flight Stick but then I get sadly reminded that regardless of how good the hardware is, at the end of the day, NONE of these products have [(FFB) - Force Feedback] and then I say to myself - what’s the point.

So, until they get this FFB situation sorted out, I just don’t feel like I’m in any special need to get the best device out there.

I got the VKB Gunfighter Mk3 and it is a great piece of flight sim hardware but it feels a little overkill flying civilian GA aircraft with it.

A more civil stick would sometimes be more appropriate.
