It’s a T6A, you can already have a great Huey, did you try Taog’s version? It was released just yesterday and while I still don’t have it the comments are comparing it to the DCS Huey so it is really very good.
I have the DCS Huey and have been waiting for a quality Huey for MSFS.
Thanks. I will follow this up
ADV means “Advanced”. It’s their external physics and flight model. It was discussed in their video above.
The reference to disabling antivirus is a “cover your butt” reference all software companies use. It’s normally not necessary, but it’s printed so people know where to start if they have any issues.
Young people don’t appreciate where we are now and what it took to get here.
I grew up on NES and SNES - first PC sim was FS 95. There was no complaining in those days, it was amazing to have what we had. There was no such thing as poor graphics, we HAD graphics. lol
I have heard the VR cockpit textures of the Taog Huey are not that good.
I want only a single Huey if there are two options.
Is the Blackbird Huey now cancelled because of the Taog Huey?
Our UH1H is a top priority now that the T6A ADV has been released. It will be well worth the wait.
Was it? I must have missed it. Or perhaps the discussion was drowned out by all the music.
It’s routine to be told to disable your anti-virus software during installation. I’ve even been known to do it. But I don’t recall a previous occasion on which I was instructed to fiddle with my anti-virus arrangements after installation.
Sorry, I meant it was discussed in their State of the Sim video from December, which was posted above on Jan 8th.
White listing specific installation directories isn’t common in consumer software but can be fairly common in corporate environments. If Blackbird is using external physics and flight model the processes will be running out of the MSFS directory and they want to make sure your Antivirus software isn’t being triggered by or blocking any of the processes they are running.
Ah yes, I remember watching that video - on January 8th. Six months on, I have vague memories of a Huey and an SR-71, but that’s about it. What can I say, I’m old, and my memory isn’t what it used to be, which was lousy.
It Blackbird are going to make such a thing of the acronym, then it might be a good idea for them to give an up-front explanation of its meaning wherever it’s used. Because the first time you see it, I promise you, if you don’t already know what it means you’re going to assume it’s describing a variant of the aircraft.
I’m sure you’re right, but in corporate environments there are allegedly competent IT professionals to deal with this sort of thing.
If you’re expecting consumers to do the same thing, then you have to offer them a good deal more advice on the procedure and reassurance about its safety than can be found in a throwaway line in the manual.
Or just hope that once the software’s been installed the consumer moves on to more interesting bits of the manual and never actually sees the message.
Thank you. Waiting for your Huey …
Yes, it has been released.
Hi @captnblckbird Any chance we’ll see blackhawk or seahawk helos come out? And the sr71? Can you speak to status of these? Thanks
SR71 is hot in development. Hope to have some more updates soon - thank you for your patience.

Come hang out with us us next Saturday (July 27th, 2PM Eastern), as we chat about project updates, & show new aircraft teases!
We will be LIVE on Twitch: www.twitch.tv/blackbirdsims
We hope to see you there!
So how about revisiting that 80R project that was shut down some time back? Id say hans flopped and it’s time for the high quality version you guys were building. Reviews of hans atr from what I’ve found, are underwhelming at best. We know the Blackbird version would not be, would still love to see it. There are no good, high fidelity airline turbo props available and don’t appear to be any on the runway
I think a lot of us would very happily buy a very high quality version of this and be prepared to pay a decent price for it too. Don’t know how many to be honest but if it was done solely for FS24 and its improved SDK I think it could do quite well at the very least.
Granted though not a straight forward decision to make. Probably dependant on how many other projects are on the go too and how much work to date has already been done on the project.
Imagine the “80r” with wear and tear, state saving and a vnav that actually works…
Just to name a few potential things that I’m gutted we probably won’t be getting…
Hope to see more from the SR71, that plane is really going to be awesome for MSFS! Hope to be able to fly it soon!.
Hope to see the 737-200. How many years has it been in development now?
