This really does highlight the problem with relying on streaming. Can’t use something which has been paid for if the server goes down. Luckily this isn’t a regular occurrence as I’ve never seen this happen before.
Should be able to use the sim offline, it’s a 141GB install, that amount of data installed must be for the default textures, but I get that you have to be signed in at least.
This shows 10pm. Where are they?

Actually it is letting me play offline now, but settings are reset to default so I’m leaving well alone…

I was flying in the sim until 5 Minutes ago. All fine, but once during the flight I got a window that said: not connected to the internet - even though I was connected.
After landing I noticed that the Marketplace in the sim can not be accessed
Might be the same problem…

If you go to the xbox support services page, you can file a notification request by xbox or sms service to your mobile phones…
Can’t login to Xbox Live…the world is ending…LOL

Same. I can fly but no live weather or PG. Reminds me of FSX! 
I work 12 hour shifts and in my few spare hours before I retire for the night I thought, I’ll fire up and set my settings up from the last screw up, Ohh wait I can’t run my Sim again… 
I can’t even get that far.
Was just flying and tried to get back to the main menu when the sim hung up. Now I can’t get in either.
First time for everything I guess. 
same here. Keeps making me sign in to Xbox Live over and over , difficultly purchasing from Marketplace, menu page flashing at times and while I am flying I get messages that I am not connected to internet, then I come back online and then lose it again.
The sim and everything else relies on XBox Gaming Services being fully up and running folks. Any component outage usually means the service is not available.
Notably the outage now extends to Four Services.
MSFS 2020 worked great in 2020, not so good run on 2021…
They are uploading the new Dev Blog. The excuses for another delay of Sim Update 3 are so long that they are busting their bandwidth 
Third outage in two or so weeks.
We need an offline fallback mode.

Saying the setting they are offering are best suited to my computer this is really strange
I remember the PS3 PSN outage, hahaha, it took 3 months to fix and I survived that…
