Carenado QA for it's aircraft is non-existent for MSFS2020

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

I’m reporting two significant issues affecting both the PC‑24 and B390 Premier IA in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020. These problems impact aircraft performance, realism, and overall simulator stability.

  1. Incorrect or Incomplete Performance Specifications

Both aircraft exhibit performance behavior that does not match published real‑world data. Examples include:

  • Fuel burn significantly higher than real‑world values

  • Climb performance below expected charts

  • Cruise speeds and drag characteristics not matching POH data

  • Weight & balance values that differ from manufacturer specifications

  • In the B390 I can’t shut down the engines normally because doing so deploys the reverse thrusters. Here’s the catch, the B390 has no reverse thrust capable engines in the real world. Unbelievable glaring oversight here…

A small update to the flight_model.cfg, engines.cfg, and weight/balance tables would resolve this.

  1. Aircraft Incorrectly Flagged as AI‑Traffic Eligible

This causes MSFS to treat them as AI‑spawnable aircraft, which leads to:

  • FPS drops and stutters when AI traffic is active

  • AI attempting to load complex WASM systems not designed for AI use

  • Incorrect LOD behavior

  • Visual glitches (lights, gear, animations) when used by AI

  • Excessive CPU load in busy airspace

Because these aircraft are encrypted, users cannot correct these issues through Community‑folder overrides.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

The last three releases from Carenado that originally appeared in 2024 has had issue in 2020. I first noticed this with the release of the Cessna CT182T in which because of the settings mentioned above in the aircraft.cfg AI models for this aircraft appeared in the sim at all airports after install that affected in sim performance. Every subsequent release has suffered from this to the point the B390 has all sorts of issues that fall out of spec for the real world aircraft.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. The only step all can take is to load the aircraft up and see for yourself in 2020

  2. Try to create a modification to the config files and see you blocked by excessive encryption

  3. Try contacting Carenado directly for support and see how far you get

Moved to User Support Hub > Aircraft & Systems as B390 is not a stock aircraft. Report Third Party defects directly to the manufacturer.
