Just curious, do we need to edit the flightmodel cfg file to counteract Asobo’s flap bug?
Shouldnt need to but I hear a Hotfix is around the corner anyway
True, I guess it depends if the hotfix is them actually rolling back the change they introduced by accident or just editing the cfg files for all the default aircraft.
I’ve been wondering about this as well… was the change that leaked out only related to the lift scalars for the flaps, or was there a related code change that got put into the code that was part of the improvement they let leak too early? If there was an internal code change, then there’d be a change for all planes. If it’s only for the flight_model.cfg lift scalars, the issue would only be with the default planes.
Is there a file I can edit to prevent the L-19 from showing up as airport parked planes?
I’m totally going off sketchy memory but check for a line called something similar to “is ATC”
Yes, you need to go into the aircraft.cfg for each of the three models and search for all the places where it says atc_parking_types =“ANY”
And change that too…
for the Float plane:
atc_parking_types =“RAMP,DOCK”
And the other two:
atc_parking_types =“RAMP”
If you want to turn them off altogether, change:
isAirTraffic =1
to
isAirTraffic =0
…I’d still do the other changes from Any to Ramp(,Dock) anyway.
You beat me to it
Thank you Tom
Thank you!
Where is the aircraft.cfg file for addons? I only see aircraft.loc in that folder. In Carnedo addons too.
Oh, you must have purchased it from the Marketplace?
I bought it directly from BBS, so the files are in my Community folder and are not encrypted. You’ll have to wait for an update from the developer to make it through the Marketplace release process. My bet is he’ll fix it for the next release.
It’s possible it could be fixed as a livery which supersedes the liveries in the main directories, but that could be complicated. Probably better to wait for an update.
This is a huge plus for non-Marketplace items, and one I did not fully appreciate until that flaps issue hit us. All the other potential benefits of having a single marketplace, built-in, semi-auto updating etc. were washed away by that, and the advice to modify a file that doesn’t exist for planes purchased via that method.
This image shows an FSX PORT Im sure … something we never released or supported
Ah okay, I just wondered since I think that’s one photos you guys shared! Anyway, keep up the amazing work on this amazing plane. My current project is to try to mod in a 400hp turboprop which has been done in real life with the SIAI-Marchetti_SM.1019
I’m a bit late to the party. Only just picked this up and I really like it. Sounds are good (once I’d worked out the clicking/plinking mixture sound) and it’s well equipped with old school instruments and nav equipment for a bit of VOR navigation and exploring.
Very nice to fly too with my new quadrant. Not an exact match but pretty close.
