Instead of Simbrief, start using the MSFS2024 browser-based flight planner. You can save the flight, with ALL the pax, payload & fuel info, and export it into the 737 Max EFB where you can then export it to the 737 Max FMC. It has more features and better integration than Simbrief IMO.
I saved this website a while back but It must be something Im missing.
Do you know how I can get it to calculate fuel, where I can set block fuel and such? Is there a calculate or generate button somewhere Im missing? In the generated briefing it all just lists 0ās because I cant edit the block fuel. And also It only lets me select 12 passengers max.
I got fed up with the backspace keybind for ext view too, and swapped ext view back to END key instead. Bliss.
Had much the same issues loading as you, all approximations. Then the CG / gsx thing too.
Yes the GPU is non fuctional on the Max. Iāve raised a bug report for it already.
I actually have a list of about 20 more Max bugs, but no way Iām writing a ticket for each one of them. Lifeās too short. Lol.
You need to create a flightplan first. Work your way down the menu on the left - first select your aircraft type and variant and then your departure, arrival and so on.
On the Fuel page thereās a small panel you can click on to change Flight: VFR (default) to International for example.
I must be missing some generate or calculate button or something. Or my eyes arent what they used to be maybe.
this is what I see after selecting the B738M and a full flight plan under āRouteā:
Im sure Im just missing something.
Welp, I got as far as takeoff and initial climb-out before I punted it to the curb. The bugs and oddities in this plane are ⦠mindboggling.
During startup, even with the APU running and electric hydraulic pumps on, the flaps didnāt move until AFTER I had started the first engine; the cabin pressurization system stayed dark and apparently inoperative the entire time so I couldnāt set cruise and landing altitudes. During rollout, the airspeed indicators on the PFD never came alive - and yes, I had removed the pitot covers during the external preflight before going into the cabin.
Thatās enough for me. Until this aircraft gets a LOT of fixes, itās not worth flying, especially for anyone who later wants to step up to a real high-fidelity Boeing later. Youāll learn too many bad habits and incorrect procedures to make it worthwhile.
I had issue of covers only was removed on one side, so now I check both sides before I get inside. Not sure why they are forcing pilots to do these things on airliners at all in this sim but thats another topic.
I figured the electrical driven hydraulic pumps didnt work until the engines were running because of it was a Max thing, but I wouldnt be surprised if its a bug.
Does anyone know how to avoid the Air Cond cautions during takeoff and initial climb?
My biggest issue with flying this thing is that I cant land it, at all. No matter how calmly I try to get it configured for landing. As soon as I disconnect A/P and A/T the aircraft has some serious stab trim issues. And there is no amount of backpressure and panic-trimming that can save my landings.
I figured I would only do cat3 full autolands from now, but first try on that was a nogo as well. I cant believe how badly it behaves compared to the PMDG737.
Are the other default airliners in FS24 like this too? I dont want Airbus cooties so I have to ask.
It is very much a bug. In both the NG and the Max, the electrically-drive hydraulic pumps provide enough pressure and hydraulic flow to move the flaps, albeit more slowly than the engine-driven pumps. They are an important backup/safety system.
wait, you have the NG working fine in fs24?
in fs20 it all worked fine with the NG. hydraulic panel, air bleed panel and generator panel - never had these weird issues until the AsoboMax in fs24.
The dark windows are the ones you can type into - use backspace to delete the zero first - Iām using lbs/h and enter Average Fuel Burn first which is 599. Most of the other fields self-populate when you enter the Average Fuel Burn figure.
I see, I had no idea I had to manually enter fuel burn. Where do I find correct fuel burn? 599 lbs/h sounds very low.
" The fuel consumption can be estimated as 8,000 lbf x 0.55 lb/lbf/hr, which equals 4,400 lb (2,000 kg) per hour of fuel consumed at cruise" -Mr.Google
Any way to set a somewhat realistic passenger number on the payload tab? I can only set up to 12.
No, Iām speaking of the NG and Max in FS2020 (as well as real-life - both iFly and PMDG have the behavior correct).
Replied to you in the wrong thread⦠and the brandy hasnāt started yet.
Do we know if they are using the poll threads for bugs, or are we expected to post a separate bug report for each individual item?
I probably have the same list lol.
Yes, on that page you need to change VFR to any one of the other options in that drop-down window.
I donāt know. The bug reporting system seems very geared around single bug reporting along with ways to reproduce them. I get the feeling we are largely just talking to ourselves in threads like these sadly.
Pretty sure theyāve said a few times that bugs have to be reported one per thread in the bug reporting section with the template filled in and discussion group content doesnāt really count.
Itās all very well, but Iād probably spend a whole day filling out those bug reports & without any guarantees theyād ever be acknowledged let alone fixed. Itās a frustrating process tbh. and as @NixonRedgrave has well documented his previous numerous bug reporting endeavours have often led nowhere. Iām sure that the Max will get updated, but I doubāt they are sitting waiting to squash every bug like say PMDG does.
Yeah, letās stay on topic here and not go down the list of things PMDG hasnāt fixed in yearsā¦.
I have really persevered with the Asobo 737 Max but after about 5 flights with problems such as erratic pitching, uncontrolllable trim/c of g, nose wheel malfunctions and now loss of FMS function, i have to conclude that this is an embarrassing pile of SH1T. Asobo, you should be embarrassed to have presented this to the fee paying public in this shambolic state.
The sim is actually fine with Fenix aircraft but the 737 is an utter disgrace.
Itās a learning curve for sure, the 737 Max has OCD - you have to do certain things in a certain order or she wonāt play the game. Itās a challenge, but all the more rewarding for mastering it.
