Playing virtually maxed out with DX 12 and frame generation.
My rig cost $5000 plus another $1000 for a new monitor.
I finally found two options that are more or less in my price range.
- A custom build without any ssd, so I would have to use my 1TB m.2 ssd from my current build (or add a new one). Price of all components: +/- 4000 €
- i7 13700K
- Zotac 4090 amp extr.
- Asus Prime z790-a
- 32 GB RAM
- Corsair CPU cooling
- A pre-build HP Omen 45L. On the surface this one is better equipped (better CPU, more RAM, more storage), but as with every Omen, it has their dedicated mainboard and questionable cooling. Price: +/- 3800 €
- i9 13900K
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090
- 64 GB RAM
- 2 GB M.2 SSD
I am more temped to go for the pre-build Omen because I feel like I get more for my money. I’ve had one before and I didn’t have any issues with it apart from it’s cooling, so I did buy a coolermaster eventually. And well, the system wasn’t really upgradable (pretty much no new CPU or power unit was compatible with their mainboard). Most people I talked to say to stay away from Omen and go for the self-built solution, even though they cost more. So I really don’t know.
i have an “old” MSI Trident, and have been very pleased with it’s performances so far. When I’ll change to a more performant, newer pc, I’ll definitely go for MSI, and warmly recomend it. Never had to overclock it, work flawlessly, and I still think you could find your happiness with one of their pre build gaming computers.
I do NOT work for them, nor are affiliate from close or far to the brand. I’m just a very happy and satisfied customer.
