Cowan Sim Bell 206L LongRanger

:loudspeaker:Important note: :loudspeaker:

In “CAMEREAS.CFG” set the “InitialZoom” value to 0.27 This value does not stretch or distort the cockpit. The value Cowan Simulation provided is 0.57 which is not appropriate. It results in a distorted view.

Availability of “CAMEREAS.CFG”:

c:\Users.…\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community\cowansim-cowansim206l3_v1.0.2\SimObjects\Airplanes\Helicopter_206L3\

There is an update available that fixes the running start issues. V1.0.2 is up on the Cowan Simulation website.

Ok i went and grabbed this helicopter, it’s pretty good but there’s some issues, the first one might just be my fault but the artificial horizon drifts to the right.

The second major issue is in Multiplayer we see each other with no doors or interior. Kinda distracting.

Edit: There’s no ground effect either.

Cowan seems to not check these forums but does seem to respond to his subforum on HeliSimmer

Please could someone check the Marketplace to see the version history of the Cowan CS Longranger 206L3

Please let me know

Thankyou

explanation to follow…

Thank you BigCow74. Interesting. Cowan has five helicopters in the Marketplace. Four of them have had updates except this one. Despite having been released in the same ballpark as the others. There have been two updates, one back in May, available on Cowan website (unavailable to Marketplace customers). Important update solving a problem. Joss says there must be something wrong with my installation. I know now that that is untrue. I was told to go to the contents manager and update, and here’s the rub. It’s impossible to update a product that says it’s up to date.

It’s on V1.0.2 on PC if you bought directly from Cowansim

As I have mentioned

I think it’s about time I stopped using the Marketplace

It will have different load out options similar to the H125. With the medical HEMS load out and such. It’s a bit longer of an aircraft and slightly larger payload. Cowan has said it’s a completely different aircraft model and not a variant of the 206B.

From a loadout point of view, the L3 has 6 seats. In our fantasy world of flight sims I flew the L3 from Victoria Airport to the fantastic Victoria Falls. Unfortunately the people loadout is the same as the B3. you cannot install passengers in the two rear-facing seats.

Correct. All CowanSims helicopters only have four occupants custom modeled regardless of how many seats there are.

My original post you quoted was in response to the main differences between the B3 JetRanger and the L4 LongRanger. The LongRanger has HEMS, a bit more power, and is obviously longer.

I can confirm, version 1.0.0 on the marketplace. Disappointing.

New update coming in hot! I Look forward to these updates to all Cowans hitting the MP soon.

I gave it a try. I find it surprisingly easy to handle, especially compared to Fi Bell 206B. You can bind practically anything to your controls, which is really cool. I love the searchlight. recommended.

Just bought the Cowan 206L3 and hate there is NO ingame checklist … any workarounds for this ?

The solution is about 2 posts previous.

I said ingame checklist

Joshua has stated in other channels (I think it was a FB response) that he is working to add the checklists IN-GAME for the few Cowansim helis that don’t have them. It should be coming in an update.
Have you posted about it in the support forum?

Hi Belatu, it’s nice to see you again (we recently chatted on your YouTube channel) but I just noticed that this helicopter only has a few switches that you can remember. Oh man, this thing is really a challenge and I thought the 407 was a nervous device. There is a clear difference in flying with only 2 rotor blades. But the machines are also from different manufacturers. I was seduced into buying the thing on sale.

You asked for workarounds that’s what @SilentOption150 was trying to do for you. By mentioning my post above with not only the checklist but the manual.

No there is not in game personal electronic device. There is no “EFB”. Also, There is an In game check list like you wanted.

These helicopters are super easy to start it takes like 5-6 button presses and a whopping 4 seconds.
