Based on the SU1 release notes, there were no changes made to the De Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver, so I’d not expect to see any improvements.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

• exact same problem. AP non functional and no way to activate it.
Exactly the same for me.

The release notes also don’t mention breaking it, but here we are
Hopefully this gets addressed in SU2 - I miss the Beav!
Any news from SU2 Beta testers?
Yes, autopilot is fixed in SU2 beta 1.4.7.0
But forgot to check fuel boost / radio switch
Things power up correctly now, but still having some issues with the KAP140 - interested to see how others are doing with it.
Glad to know I wasn’t doing something wrong with the autopilot, it was just broken!
Does anyone else have fuel consumption issues with the dhc-2? I’ve found that even when I try to manage the engines as efficiently as possible I have to use the “add fuel” keybind because even with full tanks it’s empty within ~100 miles when the beaver should have closer to 400 miles range. The career missions never start with more than ~10 minutes of fuel in the tanks making them impossible to complete without the add fuel “cheat”.
After 3 months, can someone at Asobo pay attention to the broken autopilot on the dhc-2 beaver. In looking at the beta for SU2 it appears it still remains off the radarscope for repair. I mean really, is it too much to ask?
Everything that was broken in SU1 is fixed in the first SU2 beta - the weirdness happening with the AP I believe is tied to the KAP140 unit and not specific to the Beaver.
Copy paste the DHC2 blackbird simfile from your msfs2020 if you have and place it in yr community folder. Restart fs24 and all is working fine
I fully concur and I’m experiencing the exact same issues that are reported in this thread.
Voted!
Can you explain with better detail what you’ve done in order to (temporarily) fix the issue?
Thanks in advance
Dear
If you happen to have fs2020 than copy paste the DHC2(blackbird) folder, found, there, in simobjects, and place it in your fs2024 community folder. The aircraft is almost, if not 100% identical as in fs24, If done so you will find it back in the DHC2 folder in your aircraft selection menu. The garmin autopilot will function on all the DHC2 models, that is , it holds the choices you’ve dialed in in your avionics gauges. Although not perfect it does the trick .
