Europe here… I’m unable to get over the the “Checking for updates” screen without setting a VPN connection (to Germany). I’m in France. First time, it happened to me. Worked like a charm last evening.
Once passed the “Checking for updates”, I can shut down my VPN and MSFS continues working.
… and few minutes ago:
After su5,i got this msg several times. Why create anothter bug after update ? Never happened before SU5!!!
Yeah, I noticed I had massive squares of land that had straight edges with valleys in between them, and as we flew closer, they would stitch together, the valleys would disappear, and magically get smoothed over as if nothing was ever wrong lol … must be glitching all the time, but everyone just assumes it’s only a small thing as I have never seen it mentioned, but it looks like LOTS of people are getting little issues constantly …
My ISP has some “Guard” app that monitors for dodgy internet connections, I had to turn it off as it kept stopping connections to some of my regular internet servers, and proton mail - including one my friend owns that we use between us. Maybe it is something like that? I also had to use a workaround by using a VPN to get access … and when my ISP went down for two days, my VPN worked fine lol !!
The Azure lost connection banner is also normal for me during every flight. This just started within last few weeks?

Same issue with me! The offline voice sucks!
Happens to me all the time. Maybe the servers can’t cope with the amount of users? Would this cause the blurry lod issue as well?
I strongly suspect it’s causing a lot of issues, including the increase in CTDs many people have been reporting.

+1 to that. The only time I have had CTDs in the past month has been when I have been getting server instability.

Dunno if ur in the UK (I see the Atlanta tab, but I fly in the USA regularly), but for me, it was really nice to hear a British controller talking to a British pilot, both with British accents lol - even if the pilot sounds like a whiny sissy … it’s very disturbing to get USA accents in EVERY SINGLE part of the world, drives me mad tbh !!
Carribean = USA, Africa = USA, Germany, Russia, China, Japan, Australia, Indonesia, Brazil, Chile, Sweden, yep, you guessed it ! All USA accents …
USA = USA which is fine :¬) Though it might be nice to get NY accents in NY lol
Ideally, we should be able to choose the national accent for our pilots, and the world should be sectioned off at least by continent.

So this is getting more curious, but there are definitely server issues, especially at peak times. For instance, on Saturday Afternoon (Melbourne, Australia time), 60% of the population are in lockdown, I normally connect to the closes server being South East Asia. I launched a flight 3 times, and got CTDs each time at random moments while on the tarmac. So I reloaded MSFS, and switched to West Coast USA server, (early hours of Saturday morning there) and restarted the same flight, no changes, live weather live traffic etc. I was able to fly, 3 legs in total. Only thing was the constant in and out of the Azure Voices. This is not the first time changing servers to a timezone where most people are asleep has fixed my CTDs.

Maybe Microsoft should hire Amazon - their cloud services never seem to have issues.

I have had this Issue randomly until the last 3-4 days its every flight, its either happening , contacting ground for IFR clearance , push back or ground services. or sometimes its not till during the flight. This wouldn’t be so bad if the other voices didn’t sound like computer generated chipmunks on helium. Please for the love of god… FIX THIS

Had this myself quite a lot over the past couple of weeks - prompted my post about a 10 yr old american boy taking control of ATC comms. Me no like.

Similar to others, dropping out intermittently over the last week or so.
Had the problem again today.
This is probably not the right place but, will get the most coverage.
Maybe, just maybe the loss of connection issues has to do with the upcoming update.
Possibility?

what is your thinking behind that?
My reasoning behind my comment is that ASOBO/Microsoft may be getting the server ready for the world update coming on, I think the7th of this month,
It was only a possible suggestion.
Happy to listen to shot others think.
Yep. Me to. Says AZURE is not available and using local ATC data.
