76 T pre patch 5FPS. Now 44 FPS. It is fixed.
I started up the sim, no update available on Steam. But update available in-sim, update gets stuck in a loop (see video below) with release notes for 1.14.5.0:
I had to ALT + F4 to force stop MSFS, when restarting the sim there finally is something available on Steam, now the in-sim update does show the correct release notes for 1.14.6.0… But it is downloading the FULL 28.86 GB fs-base again … Asobo, if you push updates on people, at least make sure it is completely pain free…
By the way, what is this “WELCOME, SET YOUR EXPERIENCE” about as title on every update?
Update: CTD and starting all over, gonna do something better with my time now…
Update 2: Update getting stuck at “decompressing fs-base 2”, or I’m too impatient, either way I stopped it and gonna go to sleep now, tomorrow another try .
I went from 48fps to 70+ fps in the piper arrow.. But looks like the latest tree lod mod is not working anymore again… Looks like lod got even worse… Doing a restart now see if it helps.. Fps issue is gone at least
Edit: tree mod working again after restart. Fps went down to mid 50’s though. Still better then pre-patch!
Edit edit: it was the arrows ipad eating the fps. With ipad off getting 65-70fps above san fransisco:ok_hand:
Just an FYI. It is actually Asobo that has control of when patches release on steam.
Source: Me. I’m a game dev with two games on Steam.
The devs upload the patch and choose when to make it active. This is not the same for game releases, though, which are activated by Steam.
Users will often need to restart steam to trigger updates that were set live while they are already logged in. That’s worth knowing if you aren’t seeing an update that should already be live.
For me it has. Just flew out of (Orbx) London City and flew around London on max graphics settings and apart from a couple of very quick hitches it was fantastic!
My GPU mem was maxed out so i wasn’t surprised at all with the couple of stutters i got, and they really were minor.

Any VR users with anything to report?
BRAVOOOOOOOOOOOOO Asobo! Seriously… we’ve given a lot of grief lately (understandably) but it’s also good to have the sim back to expected performance. I didn’t have the struggles that a lot of people did, but now my performance today seems to be even better (i9-9900, 3080).
GREAT JOB!
Around 100 Megabyte here.
Are the stutters fixed? It looks for me that the stuttering isn’t fixed with the newest patch 1.14.6.0
Graphic settings on High
Did you also need to force stop the sim? I guess something gets corrupted and it starts downloading the whole thing…
I can grow 2 beards before it gets downloaded here …
Just like to say thanks to the Asobo team. I only purchased the sim a couple of weeks ago and have been thoroughly disappointed with the stuttery hell i’d bought, especially after spending every last penny i had (and several hundred i dont have ) on a new machine, the sim and some go to addons. Now it’s everthing i hoped it would be. Thanks for the fix! Have a great weekend.
After you download from Microsoft Store , restart PC and launch MSFS 2020 again.
Not bad, not bad… It seems to be a lot smoother after flying over LA and landing at LAX
I just got home from working. About to load in to check things out now.
Had the same issue, it downloaded the 125Mb first, then I went into the store a clicked on play, It is now downloading the 1 GIG store update.
Same, except mine is telling me that I have 126.29MB to download. That was about 40 minutes ago and its still going, downloading hundreds of fs-base-0.1.XXX.fspatch files.
Check your release notes, 1.14.5.0 or 1.14.6.0? In case of the former you can stop waiting, stop the sim and restart. It needs to show 1.14.6.0…
Update: CTD and starting all over, gonna do something better with my time now…
what Nvidia Driver you guys use? still 457.30 for better performance, or is the latest good with this update?
