Sonicviz:
New UI Project
If I read this right, looks like Asobo are going to rewrite the UI system from scratch perhaps.
“We are opening a Lead UI Programmer position as part of the implementation of a new UI tech on the Microsoft Flight Simulator project.”

Maybe they’re going to reimplement the UI framework without Coherent GT, the current UI framework. Not a small job, at least a year or more I would think, but based on my experience developing Aircraft/Location Manager I can see why they would bite the bullet and do that, for future development flexibility. Coherent GT was a good choice to get to market, but it may not be flexible enough (or updated enough to current web standards) based on lessons learned since release, and for where they want to go with MSFS.
I’m sure it will still be HTML based on the front end, so theoretically should be able to upgrade Aircraft/Location Manager to slot into the new UI as well, if so. I’m sure it can still add things they might not have in even a new UI system, unless they integrated it.
I’ve got some thoughts on that: What about Tide effects? - #12 by Sonicviz
So looks like I was "write"
I hope MSFS 2024 has proper water simulation at least.
Bit strange to market this without clarifying the content transfer situation, given how much a lot of have people have invested in planes/scenery. That’s a lot of uncertainty to dump on regularly paying customers. I would assume content is going to be transferrable, but then again you can’t assume anything nowdays!
