At the moment I tend to flatten the bad Asobo sim photogrammetry ships in port using a terraforming poly then add a ship model over the top. If I wanted to use the live ships, it would be necesary to not just flatten those PG ships but hide them too so we dont see them outlined on the water surface when the Realtime ships leave the port. It would also of course mean getting rid of static models.
Is there a way of hiding the photogrammetry ships in ports so we just see water?
I am not sure it can. People on FS Developer dont seem to have a solution. What I dont want is ships trying to occupy the same spaces as PG ships, that will just look horrible and whilst the PG ships can be flattened, the PG ship texture can still be seen unless something slightly larger covers them if they cannot be hidden. Personally I think docks are going to look rather horrible at times if we cant find a solution to this problem.
The best we can do at the moment is a TIN exclude.
Ok I have the Bijan and Orbx Sydney sceneries too which put lots of moored up boats in the harbours so I guess Iāll just see how they look when youāre done. Super keen to see how @Kaiii3 's magic lifts up GAIST to new possibilities
Henrik, are you aware of any problems with GAIST and SU10 beta? Iāve re-enabled in my community folder but the sim just hangs when loading into a flight, both DX11 and 12.
Itās not working with beta but itās also not intended to work with it. If a mod works with the beta itās pure luck especially when beta has touched some of the mods functionality - and ship traffic is modified by the beta.
Same here, I got hangups in beta so Iām not activating the mod until itās updated - possibly until the live version is released compatible with SU10.
How do you get to this conclusion? This time there is a specific place for third party community addon bug reporting on the beta build, so it seems addons should work with it (at least issues shall be reported there):
Well something is amiss with my sim then. When I select a flight it gets about a third of the way across the blue loading bar then it just stops and does nothing. The screen just freezes.
I had that problem too (I am not using the SU10 beta).
I ended up separating out the .bgl files by US region and put them in their own folder. Since I am currently flying around the US this worked for me.
If a mod is built using the SDK, it should still work in a beta and Sim Update. They ask you to remove mods not because theyāre not supposed to work, but because if the sim doesnāt function properly they need to be able to trace it to the sim itself or a mod ā removing mods from the equation simplifies the debugging process.
But mods should work with betas and updates if theyāre following proper SDK processes. And if something doesnāt, it should be reported in the beta forums. Ideally a sim update should not break commercial or freeware add-ons that are built using SDK tools (versus being hacked in or replacing files), and itās an important part of the beta process to report when these break, so that Asobo changed something that might affect multiple add-ons they can either address the breakage, or at least communicate to add-on developers that they need to update their products due to breaking changes.
Iām not jumping in the SU10 beta yet because my sim time is limited for the next couple of weeks and I donāt want to find problems I donāt have time to troubleshoot/report properly, so I canāt confirm the issues.
But if yāall are seeing crashes with GAIST being the only add-on installed, you absolutely should report the crashes in the SU10 Beta forum in the 3rd Party section.
