That is not an LOD issue. Thatâs a connection issue.
I notice a huge inconsistency, depending on region, time of day and, seemingly, flight time.
Yesterday, I started at 21W to a short scenic trip around Mount Rainier..a the start, the ground looked stunningly beautiful, but degraded after approx. one hourâŠon approach, it was as if the sim would not load the last LOD âLayerâ or best resolution.
Later, starting from 05WN Flat Creek and following the river up heading to Kootenay via TrailâŠthere just seems to be bad satellite image quality.
In my region here in Germany and Denmark, its fluctuatingâŠfrom nice to okay-ish..
Just a reminder: this topic isnât meant for screenshots alone. If youâre posting a picture, please add some context and explain what weâre looking at, and how it relates to the topic subject. Thanks.
Related as its the new world update and its showing ground textures in honolulu
I am wondering how SU2 improve the blurry texture problem. I havenât updated to the beta yet, but I notice the blurry texture problem is still quite significant in SU1 compared to msfs2020. The texture is like back in the FSX days, even the autogen house and buildings look quite ugly, maybe I am being too picky? I wonder this is due to server issue? Bandwidth? Anyhow, for those who are using su2 beta, is it any better?
The thing is, the textures donât become sharp in time. I can see them change from low to âhighâ res directly in front of me.
Iâm not only talking about distant mountains at the horizon as in your pic.
Look at this example.
I appreciate there might be use cases where people do not notice this,
but running the sim in 4k on a 55" OLED HDR screen, in a wide open glider cockpit, using headtracking, flying in aereas not covered by trees, these issues become extremely obvious.
Especially coming from 2020 where this was no issue, itâs hard to accept this clear downgrade in visual quality.
Itâs been a long time since I last visited the forum. Is there any update on this issue or any solution available?
Thougt the same and think it would be the only way to fix issues to have feature where you enter destination and arrival and everything inbetween is preloadedâŠdont care if it is some hundred gigs
Just to add my sad experiences (from yesterday around/after 6 PM GMT), with â â â â â â terrain detail in both msfs2020 and msfs2024.
With effectively/tested 980MBits downstream, MSFS downloads dont go beyond roughly 30MBits.
However, terrain and objejts does not only look broken (flight journey Paris/Rome)âŠnoâŠI also get a massive FPS impact from 45 FPS down to 5-10 FPS, sustainingâŠafter 5mins I just closed the sim as I assume it just will never make it to load the terrain dataâŠeven when going with one of the slowest planes..No idea what to doâŠbut I guess there is nothing we can do from our side, when I see the sad previous posts.

i9 13900ks
64GB DDR4 memory
5090 Suprim
Varjo Aero
Is there actually any kind of public dashboard which shows the current load situations of the MS servers? It would be helpful to know, so I dont have to power up if everything is overwhelmedâŠand maybe discover a time windowsâŠbetween after midnight where servers would deliver terrain data?
