Microsoft has already tried it’s hand at combat simulation, it came out in 1998 and was called… wait for it… ‘Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator’ 
Wasn’t too bad from what I remember, but there were already a number of far more popular titles out there like the ‘Jane’s’ series and Falcon 4 so it never really went anywhere.
