Uhm lets see, constant CTDs, tons of broken aircraft, memory leaks, career mode has tons of bugs, NPC’s hanging out of the airplanes, helicopters bouncing around on the ground, impossible career mode missions where you need to land airplanes on buildings, save NPC’s from near vertical places where you can’t land a helicopter, instant mission failiures without even moving the aircraft, settings not saving/working, mouse problems on consoles etc…
For aircraft and airports it’s possible in theory. But we’ve yet to see how well that method works and if it will really be the case.
I’m pretty sure the people working on World Updates are not the same as the people working on the core sim. Anyway, I don’t agree with this post. I would like to see the Brasil world update released. I use 2020 more than 2024 anyway, so just because they messed up 2024, does it stall any development in 2020?
Are the people hanging out of airplanes still a thing in 2024? I remember seeing them in Bonanza GA36 and some others planes. I wonder what the aircraft manufacturers have to say about that. If this is still not fixed, it seems to me like a mockery of their products.
I had written something about it…
The Brazil WU should be released because it was originally intended for December 2024 and was postponed, but then the developers should sit down and rework everything that already exists.
That’s the point.
WU Brazil is already delayed 2 months. It was originally scheduled for December, and now probably won’t release until March. The World Updates get released for 2020 and 2024 at the same time. If you indefinitely hold off on World Updates, you now have people saying “Microsoft and Asobo have abandoned 2020! We were supposed to have a World Update, but they haven’t released it”. There has to be a balance between indefinitely stopping all content, and releasing it in some staggered release. Because you have so many people who have gone back to 2020 until things settle down, and some people who never left, and you can’t start penalizing the 2020 users.
Also, you can’t hold up releases for fixes to Local Legends or Famous Flyers. Not everyone purchased those. Those are separate addons, not part of the base sim. You may not like the bugs in them. I can understand that. That has to be a separate topic from the sim though. You even stated some of them released not working to begin with. If this was 2026, and everything is fine in the sim, would you like your updates or world update content on hold because people who bought a Local Legend in Feb of 2026 find it has bugs? You never purchased the addon. Why should you have your content withheld because of bugs in an addon you never purchased.
Unless I got it wrong. LLs and FFs would have to be fixed by their respective devs after MS gave them order to do it? So this wouldn’t be something that would hold other development.
This continues to be the biggest misleading statement. The WUs are NOT exclusively made by partners, there’s a lot of work by the MS/Asobo team that have to integrate those elements. It’s not as simple as flipping a switch!!
Jorg has mentioned this in the live stream as far back as MSFS 2020 where the WUs caused so many serious issues that they decided to pause any WUs. They lost control back in MSFS2020 and similarly with MSFS2024. We are merely telling MS/Asobo to go back to that and fix MSFS 2024 instead of pushing out content that compounds the stability and problems of MSFS 2024.
MSFS 2024 is super unstable. Continue to add more stuff will only add to the substantial unknown problems that the team created. This is merely software development 101.
Wtih any software development, there are a lot of dependencies. If you are unable to isolate the problems and fix them but instead keep throwing stuff after stuff, it’s going to get worse. It doesn’t matter if you agree or disagree. It is a simple FACT!!
Guys, you have to read my previous comments too, I said everything about it. LL and FF are just examples that everything is connected and bugs are everywhere. WUs and CUs are connected.
And yes, there are tons of people who buy these planes and Microsoft/partners don’t have the resources to implement them well from the start or to fix bugs.
I also said everything about Brazil.
MS/Asobo should continue to support MSFS2020, but they should either give the developers more time or hire more people.
Logically, MSFS2020 is not satisfactory either, which is why I will never go back and it makes sense to rework everything that exists and thus remove the bugs from both sims.
So my priorities are not to constantly get new things in a broken world, but to repair the broken world so that I can have fun with the new things at some point.
And again, you can’t fix the broken world, broken scenery and broken planes if you’re constantly busy with new things and tying up staff for the new things in the world, tying up staff for new scenery and staff for the new planes, while in the background the bug mountain continues to grow.
lol… oh no dude..that is so wrong
I have yet to fly one single flight in 2024 where I don’t get either the aircraft crapping out or I get a CTD. It’s biased 90% aircraft stops functioning and 10% CTD. I remember listening to Jorg in Vegas where he said the sim was built from the ground floor up to be better than 2020. So far the VR is a huge mess, despite having “VR partners.” The aircraft, especially the A320 is a complete mess and the scenery is such low resolution as to be tragic. I have a 13900k and a 4090. Hey what about quad views for VR? So far all I am seeing is a repacked MSFS2020 that streams. I agree let’s stop all of these meaningless updates and put the entire team on fixing the core engine and resolving bugs. Jorg please pay attention.
I think this is what Martial commented with something along the lines of „we have to find a way to provide that [information]“ in the last dev stream.
The bush trips, the landing challenges, and discovery flights are basically addon packages. They are dropped in. There is the up front work to get updated data that Microsoft does. But those aren’t developers who fix anything. There is Orbx and Gaya who do all the hand modeling, but those end up in basically an addon. So the work Jorg talked about is all the upfront work. Talking with the countries involved. Find updated sources of data. Hiring phanes to get photogrametry data. There is a lot of work that the partners do not do, however, it is not done by any Asobo developers. So yes, World Updates are NOT taking up huge resources from Asobo, and do not delay fixing bugs.
Spot on Mark, 2024 needs to gain trust before any updates.
Everything that works in MSFS2020 should at least work as well in MSFS2024 first, so that we can use MSFS to fly before considering any upgrades.
would it be impossible to reduce the server load and let you choose whether you want to download part of the game (e.g., airplanes.) to the PC hard disk.?
Here we are over 2 months into it and planes are falling through the ground, the ATC still talking in loops to itself, over itself, and directing you to the wrong runway, and the midnight error still screws people over.
Yet they are updating stuff like the AIRAC cycle.
Doesn’t change the fact that the MS team can put that stuff on hold until the core game is better.
Everyone is rightfully taking this announcement as a slap in the face.
The Core sim is ok tier and not same team then World Update and Aircraft is all external team same for Race Activity is also a external studio (Climax)
