How does anyone ever land at O'Hare?

That’s not an unreasonable point, really.

IRL ATC almost certainly knows who you are and where you’re going. They’re not just going to let you fly over the top of Chicago without addressing you.

Indeed, it can be a bit of learning experience as a new FO when you can’t get a word in to just sit on your hands and wait until they call you.

MSFS has to make allowances for all sorts of non real behavior (sometimes better than others). And it can require a bit of a workaround to not make the sim stand in the way of itself in trying to be “real”.

Yes, it seems that Chicago O’Hare really throws up the shortcomings of the in-game ATC. I’d guess with the announcement of MSFS2024 we’re not going to see much in the way of improvement although just getting rid of the nonsensical traffic advisories would be a start!
Looking forward to Beyond ATC which hopefully will make things much more realistic - although even they do not think they can improve everything!

This lucky C208 has the entire approach to itself!
