How is your msfs 2024 experience now?

I had the same false reason for refusing a refund on the website. I also phoned them twice, they just fobbed me off. It was like talking to scammers.

I love it. It loads so much faster than FS2020 and works well in VR. I have used both the external and internal flight planners. There are some small annoyances like the anti-icing not working on the DA-62, but overall, it is a vast improvement over FS2020. I am using a medium level PC and a Q3.

Mixed bag so far. Performance is nice for me (lots of VRAM so no problems there, network works fine, much more consistent frame rates with fewer drops and stutters) but the promised improvements in scenery haven’t arrived in Los Angeles or Portland areas, and premium planes like the Cessna SkyCourier are a bit buggy and missing documentation.

Hopefully once the Marketplace import problems are worked out and the first round or two of bugs get cleared out, they’ll actually push out those new ground textures and photogrammetry updates they promised.

Had a few crashes today on xbox. Managed to get the TCA thrust reversers to work on Inibuilds A321. Not managed a flight just yet with the jets. Far too unstable for me. Mouse freelook is still an issue and waiting on a fix. At least i can still fly around in the Cessna 152 using my honeycomb aplha and bravo with no problems

Yes, quite a few!

Rocky start, now I love it once I worked out the control Mapping, it is for me far better than MSFS, Just takes some learning and patience.

Only ever had few CTD on loading scenery so far but easily resolveld ENGM from aerosoft CTD, used MSFS 2024 linker, soon as I moved the scenery to my actual community folder it loaded.

Smooth flights better graphics using BATC my career with pilots life V2 going well with MSFS 2024 with Fenix.

I know a lot of Simmers having issues and hate to hear Simmers having a good time in MSFS 2024. One post pointed out there is no added value to positive posts atm. I feel at present with the forum there is added value to negative and positive post as long as they are constuctive.

However the way this forum is going is just 99% negative, and not adding anything, to my experience.

Yes I will not deny, there are big, no massive bugs, however MSFS was the same at Launch
was very dissapointed but not angry

Sorry to say I love it, apoligies in advance to the people that absolutely hate MSFS 2024 but every day load it and try to fly in the most terrible Sim that has ever been created. There are plethra of sims out there, just enjoy.

How many posts did I read when MSFS came out " Sorry going back to XP11"

Also bored of hearing the price, ordered a chinese takeaway tonight for two £90
better be good and get my moneys worth

Disclaimer. I am not a a real life pilot, software programmer or designer that so many claim to be on this forum, just enjoy simming as my hobby.

My rant over
enjoy

My 2024 experience has been quite good since they decided to deactivate all add on airports. Before they took this step, I couldn’t even load into a flight, or start career mode. Now, it loads into an airport every single time without issue. I’m really enjoying it now, it still has many bugs that need squashing, but overall I’m quite happy. It’s just a shame that now it’s working properly, I’m not having the time to do many flights.

Thank you I know I am a small minority but this forum is rather monotonous now, repetition from the same people, I get it, they hate the sim, give constuctive feedback be professional move on.

Hmm no clue where you get this “hate the sim” or “going back to”. If someones post bothers you try talking to that person

See this thread started with “how is your msfs 2024 experience now”. Yeah
for me I take that as I talk about all the great things or all the bugs. Its about this thread not every thread on FS.com. See as a programmer of some game or app etc its a given you get those that praise you
thanks but you really want to hear from those with problems. Yeah you fully understand some will not be happy and you never ever make them feel bad or are wrong for saying something.

And you never lump them all together. You don’t use “words” in a away most are not using them. This is not FS 2020
its not about how that went
its about MFS 2024 and all that bought it have every right to complain. So if we don’t like what someone posted
 don’t read it.

I was going to just talk about how people post these nice pics of places and tress but mine maxed out
oh man so many tress look awful
this is something that is known. This is my “experience” now. There are threads that ask for only good posts
maybe that’s where you need to be?

It’s been more or less fine. Been flying around in free flight in the A2A Comanche on VATSIM.

Last week was very busy, so I only had time to download the game and try one flight so far this past Wednesday evening (day before Thanksgiving).

I’m on Xbox Series X and am running the game with Gamepass, so it’s the base version. I have a very fast, top speed FIOS internet connection.

The game loaded fine and fairly quickly. I got a notice that my MSFS 2020 content was available, so I loaded it, and was prompted to install an add-on upgrade package through the Marketplace, which also went quickly.

I restarted the game and it loaded quickly again. I decided to keep things simple and started a flight in the JN-4 Jenny on the runway. It did not go well. For some reason, the plane loaded 20 or 30 feet above the runway and immediately fell and crashed.

I restarted the flight and it again started me in the air, but I was able to put the nose down quickly and gain flying speed. After that, the flight was okay.

I am confused by the new Xbox controller controls. I read somewhere that I can set the control scheme to the 2020 Xbox controller scheme. I’ll look into that.

I was a bit disappointed by how the cockpit graphics looked. My first impression is that they were a little flat. I’ll look into it more closely.

So, generally, after a very brief time with the sim, I learned that I need to spend more time learning how to use it. However, the loading times were just fine.

I’m not an early adopter, and I like to form my own opinions, so for now I don’t really have enough information to have a solid opinion of 2024. However, I think the team seems to have done a good job of recovering from the server issues that plagued the release.

I will add that I’m really struggling to come to grips with the new Xbox controller control scheme. I also don’t like how the menus work with a controller. I wish that hadn’t changed from 2020.

To awnser the OP question:

Did some test this Morning.
4 of 6 times CTD when it tried to activate packages.
Nothing has changed on my system since last time I was at least able to get into the menue.

The 5th time I did show a DXgi_error I had to confirm to close the sim.
The 6th time it just did CTD after hitting the start flight button.

Sorry that I am not able to provide more detailed and constructiv feedback. I am not a developer or IT expert. I assume that the system sill provides a automatic feedback as mentioned by MS support.

Happy simming

I am enjoying the Inibuilds aircraft. Have less pleasure with other aircraft in 2024 but the Inibuilds A330 series is great to fly. I decided to de-install FS2020 now as I feel no need to turn back, FS2024 is better in many ways. I like to fly the Fenix series and waiting for the RJ series of Justflight. And the iFly 737-Max. So I am pretty happy right now. No CTD’s no other issues with these planes.

On the other hand, many other planes are garbage. From more or less buggy to right out unable to start or fly. The PC-24 is the worst right now. The Skycourier can be used but is not even close to reality as they hope to be. The Max
well, I guess we all have seen the videos. So I hope they will refurbish the other planes quickly.

But overall, I feel no need to return to FS2020.

Ahh, so that was you I saw flying that plane on vatsim over the weekend :grinning:

Well I have had one flight in msfs2024 in vatsim which was ok using the Fenix , it was from KMIA to TFFR , but it was so stuttery and no it wasnt my vram
.that was only about 9gbs

I have hundreds of hours on vatsim using msfs2020 but trying to do a vatsim flight in msfs2024 is too buggy for me and the sim crahes after freezing, so flying pmdg 738 and fenix, FBW a380x i use 2020 because i can fly those aircraft knowing a long flight will be fine and smooth with 100 FPS and personally I dont see much difference at FL370 for example and i enjoy flying into high fidelity airports

So for vatsim its 2020 all the way for me

Will msfs2024 be ok further down the line for vatsim , I hope so but not now, Wouldnt feel comfortable using that sim and getting. CTD

I give it about a year from now with all the bugs

Maybe they’ll create a livery equivalent of the world hub, where community members can submit liveries and get them included in the cloud version of FS2024?

I guess there might be one thing (and I don’t know if it’s just me or something actually changed) and that’s aircraft seem a bit harder to spot. Last night while under flight following the controller gave me a traffic advisory of a Cessna 152 that was 1,000 feet below me and going to pass under. I saw them on the Navigraph charts app but never visually. Oddly enough though I was able to spot someones green navigation light from a very far distance farther than I think I ever have in MSFS 2020. I have no idea what’s up, lol. Maybe it’s the model matching I am using.

Yeah maybe, I take it you use vatsim radar or vatglasses in google or the app?

Vatsim radar had an upgrade at the weekend
So if you dont use that although im sure you do

check that out :+1:t3:

Do you use the vrm file from fsltl?

I use aig and fsltl and adjust my setting accordingly but on the map i see all aircraft i also see aircraft that i have set visually to 30nm albeit i see their contrails

At airports obviously its chock a block depending on the airport
