Thx for the info on NVIDIA support for FreeSync. AMD made FreeSync code open source making it easy to incorporate into their drivers.
I am not familiar with FreeSync or supported monitors. I’ve had success with G-sync precisely because of the large fluctuations in FPS especially a couple of updates ago.
If you have 60hz monitor and set Vsync on to 30 in the game you shall get 30fps limit, If you get higher fps you probably use a higher refresh rate than 60 hz, the game use adaptive Vsync.
So… back home and in the “air”… and some first test results.
In-Game - Graphics - VSYNC ON, 20, 30, 60 (while Nvidie GSYNC off): have no effect whatsoever. See screenshot below (which was taken with Vsync ON, 20). It is as it wouldnt even recognize any changes. Even switched to dev. mode to be sure that the built-in xbox windows FPS counter (win + G) is not fooling me.
Thanks. NVIDIA are at their defaults. But changes in MSFS don’t work unfortunately (see tests above. ). Guess Nvidia is the only option left? Any other ideas?
I had this issue, I had to adjust it in the NCP. I think it is a bug, not many experience it I believe but the limit fps option in the game doesn’t work.
can you share the exact type of your samsung monitor ?.. a 1080p 60fps freesync monitor is not usually.
And how is it connected, DP or HDMI ?
Also… I have enabled in nvidia controll center the gsync comp. , but disabled free-sync in monitor`( I enable it when in need, but not for games comes below 40fps, because it is out of freesync range and it flickers then ). Not that this case the issue in your case.
Also… we had a old bug that the vsync works in menu, but not in-flight. I rechecked it already, and it works fine in my case. So don’t see a issue in game.
So. Used the Nvidia panel to limit FPS. Strangest thing. It did not work. I changed the Nvidia settings during a flight, but maybe I need to shut down and restart the Sim. More tomorrow.
