Same thing in European Alps, on patch in Norther Italy around wp LORLO and one in Switzerland around Matterhorn area. I fly there often and it’s very annoying,

Same here and it is easy to reproduce where the wrong snow coverage is located: simply go to the snow coverage map of meteoblue, zoom out to almost the lowest res. map variant and check. You will see the totally wrong snow “blobs” all over the world and in 90% of the cases, the snow coverage inside MSFS matches precisely this low res snow coverage map from meteoblue.

99% sure its an uncontrolled airfield IRL

Absolutely correct, however there is an Aerodrome Flight Information Service (AFIS) which will, presumably provide basic information like wind, baro, maybe runway condition etc.

"Airways operates 17 air traffic control towers nationally and offers an airfield flight information service (AFIS) at Milford Sound Piopiotahi Aerodrome and Kapiti Coast Airport.

AFIS is used at aerodromes where there are very low traffic levels. It is different to air traffic control in that AFIS officers do not issue instructions to pilots. Instead they provide pilots with information that they use to safely operate in and around an aerodrome. "

More info here:

I wish i could turn snow coverage off when using live weather as it is implemented quite poorly.

Please allow us to switch off snow cover manually in Live Weather when it is not appropriate for the conditions (e.g. high temperatures).

Iced over fjords near Bergen, in mid July. These don’t typically freeze even during the winter in most places. And in Svalbard, the ice never clears in the sim, so it’s winter there all year around which makes no sense. Baguette sim for real.

To reproduce, spawn in Svalbard ENSB with live weather. In the summer, there is no snow on the runway or in the general area around, and the sea around Svalbard generally never freezes over, even in the winter. If you disable live weather, Svalbard gets a more accurate look, but then again you wont get the live winds and wx

no improvement by today, September 16, 2023. The problem persists and is a MAJOR flaw of MSFS

This feature would be really helpfull, because for flying on online networks, you pretty much need live weather (or set winds and pressures manually to the current ones and keep them up to date while flying).

When flying in the swiss alps, the frozen lakes in summer from snow bleeding from the high valleys into the mountains completely ruins alpine vfr flying for me, so switching it off while in live weather via the ingame panel, or even via the graphics settings would be highly appreciated.

In December 2023, there doesn’t seem to be sea level snow in New Zealand for a change…

I suppose this is a problem with snow coverage resolution at meteoblue, using tiles.

Yes, a kind of slider may help. Winters are not always like this one

Really hope we can at least get some option in the settings to disable snow entirely in the sim, or even better a toggle in the live weather section to disable snow during live weather as currently in summer it is a complete immersion breaker to fly through the swiss alps in plus 30* with snow in the valleys where there has been none for the last 6 months.
