The problem of it for G1000 is that it only has 16 normal push buttons per layer (not including the knob push functions), while for G1000 you need preferably 18. I’s feasible, but e.g. putting a cheap keypad with some label stickers next to it would make it more practical. In terms of knobs there should be no issues.
You’ll need to use Spad.next or AAO etc. to interface it with the game and Garmin.
