Had 2024 since launch and just loaded King Air 350.
Tried to load my procedure. No way to do so.
Even with the addon GTN 750 which I can normally use to load a PROC and then it will appear in the cockpit G3000 or G1000 or whatever, that doesn’t work.
This issue has been reported in November 2024. We are in February 2026, ~14 months and several Major Releases later, and this issue is still simply marked as “logged” without further detail about its state.
Could we please have a status report regarding this issue? Where is it the roadmap?
The B350 was already the worst aircraft in MSFS2020, with it’s unrealistic hodgepodge combination of avionics. One can‘t help but be impressed that Asobo actually made it worse, to the point of being unflyable, in MSFS2024. That’s no easy feat.
Please, MS-Asobo, no more new Famous Flyers until you release thoroughly bug fixed, MSFS 2024 native versions of all existing default aircraft and Famous Flyers.
It actually would be possible as the aircraft is not encrypted and is accessible through the virtual file system (VFS), however someone has to do this within his/her free time.
The better fit however would be the PL21 just like the one on the C90 (which, as it’s a premium aircraft, is encrypted, however the instruments and their framework are not).
Still I hope for some proper ProLine Fusion integration at some point as a Working Title project
Question you say the files of the King Air are not encrypted? Not sure about that because even when downloaded there is no way to see the files and cfg files anywhere…
Yes, they are not encrypted when viewing through the VFS which is a different case than “downloading” the aircraft in which case your user is not authenticated when looking at them from within windows explorer.
The VFS is only accessible during runtime from within the simulator, so after your user and system configuration was confirmed to be a rightful licensed instance (DRM) by the Xbox Servers.
With this you are allowed to access the actual files to some degree (premium/deluxe and aviator editions content as well as third party content obtained through the market place is encrypted and locked, standard edition content (like the B350) is unencrypted and accessible.
You can also create copies of the packages locally on your computer that can be opened later without a need for the VFS to run. The original files however will be inaccessible again once the VFS is stopped or MSFS is closed.
Ok good to know something new I learned, but then why nobody has created a mod for this aircraft already? Just wondering. I was even so stupid to buy the analog mod as I got the 2020 files but do not have 2020 installed… and the installer doesn’t spot the 2020 exe and I spend money for nothing…
Most likely a mix of lack of interest when it comes to the particular aircraft, lack of knowledge when it comes to MSFS 2024 specific changes and/or lack of time. Also it might be that people still waited for the sim to turn mature enough.
Such mods as freeware are hobbyist projects and the learning curve has gotten steeper on MSFS 2024 compared to 2020. Some former creators might not even be aware that the files for standard edition aircraft can now be accessed through the VFS just fine and if they do they face a quite different folder structure and new (texture) file extensions.
