KPVU tower being called "Providenciales"

KPVU tower identifies as “Providenciales”, when it should be “Provo.” KPVU is the Provo Municipal Airport, Provo, Utah

As someone who took flight training out of KPVU, hearing “providentials tower” every time I load it up is extremely annoying. I really hope this gets fixed.

I load up Provo regularly, and “providentials tower” irritates me every time. You’ve got my vote.

It may be easier to rename the city of Provo to Providentials.

Yes, very annoying. And while you are at it fix the giant hill that is erroneously in front of Rock Canyon to the east.

Replying to bump. Please make ATC say “Provo” instead of “Providentials”

This still hasn’t been fixed. Anything we can do?

Hi,

Yes, as a workaround, you can go to your fs-base\en-US.locPak file and edit these lines:

 "ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME PROVO.0.text": "Providenciales",
 "ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME PROVO.0.tts": "Providenciales",

to say:

 "ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME PROVO.0.text": "Provo",
 "ATCCOM.AGENT_NAME PROVO.0.tts": "Provo",

However, most updates will overwrite the en-US.locPak file, so you will have to do this somewhat frequently.

By the way, in the future, if this issue is affecting you, I recommend voting for it at the top of the bug, as vote count plays a role in determining the priority. This case is a little less important because the bug has been logged, but just heads up for future reference.
