My last 2 out of 3 flights ended in CTDs, both about an hour or hour and half in.
I’m going with the weather radar theory, first flight I had it on all time, then the flight just now I did have it on for a bit at start but then turned it off. I guess I’ll try just leaving it off the whole time next flight.
I did install that WTT mod thingy come to think of it, the flight prior to that had no crash. I installed it after that and next 2 flights ended in crash. Hmm. If leaving the wx radar off doesn’t help, I’ll remove it for the next flight and see. But I’m kind of annoyed atm so not sure when that’ll be.
Yes it does but it says excessive speed results in floating and not to take power off until right before touchdown. So people should not be going to idle so far out and up
I’ve had at least 15 CTD’s (mostly when i change to VR) in last 5-6 hours today and I’ve discovered that the problem was WTT mod. I’ve disabled it and now TBM is working without a problem even in VR whenever i cycle from 2D to 3D, cause in my case the cycle was mostly the culprit for CTDs. I was really looking forward today to study TBMs systems and i’ve wasted the whole day with CTDs. Oh well.

Thank you very much for this info. 15CTDs you are a patient person. I will remove it and hope for the best.
Yes i was really patient today, but I wanted to find what the culprit is. I’m still not quite sure that only WTT mod is the problem, cause i just have had another CTD with TBM when i’ve changed multiple times from 2D to 3D. But i think that this is probably an error with too much VR cycles.
I avoid switching as much as possible. It’s never been stable for me, especially when the openXR toolkit is running. I still hope you are right about the WTT thing. I’ll report back.
Interesting because I was having a similar experience, crashes when switching VR mode, but I did NOT have the WTT 530 mod, and recently added it and my crashes have been less lol
I had the same problem. It was really starting to frustrate me. The only fix online was to make sure to have it correctly installed within the community folder. Like we don’t already know that. I had to fully start up the plane and then on the Top Left part of the GTN there is the blue SD Card slot there. If you click on it after fully starting the plane, the GTN lights up and you’re good to go. After that I was able to get the GTN to start in ground clearance mode as well without having to do anything. Also, make sure the GTN is selected ON in the popup overhead menu of MSFS. Hope this helps.
Can you do an RNAV approach with the GTN750? It didn’t show on the EFIS for me.
And if not, would that be the same as in the real aircraft with such equipment?
EDIT: apologies, already found it. I need to install the additional WTT mode package from PMS50.

That’s it! Thank you very much!
OK, after a weekend full of fun flights, I really like the aircraft. Still lots to learn. Missing especially wheel chocks, covers, and an EFB for controling doors, covers, chocks, show Navigraph, Simbrief, etc.
I really feel this is a missed opportunity for Blacksquare to really blow us away, and these things are becoming more and more standard features these days.
But for the rest, learning it and loving it.

Haha. For sure. It’s a feature, not a bug. <3

Same as any other plane. The overhead popup menu in MSFS at the top of the screen.
I uploaded my first draft of my checklist / procedures for the TBM 850.
If you intend to print it out, you might consider waiting a few days, because I intend to add some sections in the very next few days (AP Useage, ETM Usage, Descent Profiles, Instrument Landing Procedure.
Cheers

There are some inconsistencies if you read the manual itself and in real life videos. And with the Power at Flight Idle - you are not really in Power Off. Flight Idle provides some thrust (up to 10-15% Torque). And they dont particulary state someting about not going into Beta before touchdown in the checklist. They only state that it is prohibited in flight.
So I would interpret it as a reminder - maintain Flight Idle until Touchdown, and dont go into Beta before.
The WTT mod, the GTN750 (PMS) and the GNS530 are all javascript code so they can’t issue a CTD by themselves.
This is something else on your side.
Well, I removed the WTT mod, next flight again, different route, around 1hr30 mark, sudden CTD. I was in VR, did not switch. Edit: also made sure not to touch the wx radar.
I will park this plane for now, haven’t had a crash in other planes for many weeks, this one seemingly every flight
Yes, I just wanted to say that WTT mod was probably not the culprit, cause i’ve enabled it back and i’ve managed to complete the 1 hour flight with 2D/3D cycles without a problem. Now I’m thinking that the problem was on the asobo/MS side again.
Is there a paint kit for this plane yet?
