Map of all Points of Interest, 3D Cities and Hand-Crafted Airports up tp World Update #19 Brazil, Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana

Along with SkyVector, ChartFox, and Google Maps, your map is one of the basic utilities I fire up for every flight. Happy to be able to contribute some small part.

In Bora Bora, there are two Intercontinentals in MSFS. The southern one is on your map but the eastern one isn’t. It’s located just south of the Meridian as shown on this screengrab of Google Maps.

World Update # 16 Caribbean has been added to the map. :tropical_drink: :tropical_fish: :flamingo: :beach_umbrella:

@SCLINC Also added the missing Intercontinental hotel in Bora Bora.

In MSFS, in Fiji, near the other two POI that are listed, there is something labeled Kingsford Smith Grandstand. That name shows up in the WUXIII list as well, however I can’t find any real world references to that place. On Google Maps it shows up as Albert Park Pavilion. Even in Bing maps it shows up as Albert Park Grandstand. Not sure how you want to handle that since I think Asobo has made a mistake there, but it is a custom POI that should be included.

In the Solomon Islands, the icon for Sanbis resort is in the wrong location on your map. The correct location is towards the NW corner of Mbambanga Island as shown below

In New Zealand just north east of the Rotorua Regional Airport, there is a POI for Hell’s Gate Geothermal Reserve (-38.064779775527526, 176.36082294858855). I flew over it but couldn’t be quite sure if there was any custom scenery but what is there is pretty impressive so might be worth including.

Also in New Zealand, near Egmont National Park, you have a POI listed for Motukawa Power Station which is not in the sim but in the sim there is a nearby POI at New Plymouth Power Station located at 39°03’21"S 174°01’51"E that is not on your map.

It isn’t listed on Google or Bing maps because it was decommissioned I suppose but there is a Wikipedia page for it.

In Wellington, NZ you have a POI named Rugby League Park which is listed as a POI in the WU 12 announcement but isn’t actually modeled or labeled in the sim.

You have separate POIs for Wellington Station and Sky Stadium which show up in the sim as a single POI unhelpfully named Wellington Regional Stadium & Railway Station. This is just FYI, since both buildings are modeled and I prefer your labeling to the in sim labeling.

Dubai has a number of custom POIs that aren’t listed and Abu Dhabi has one too.

BTW, there is apparently a 3 consecutive post limit that I have reached which is why I keep editing this post.

I’ve discovered and enjoyed your map. Will you be doing more updates?
Thanks.

Hi and I’m glad you are enjoying the map! Today I added the last two city updates to the map. You all can nudge me if I don’t update in a reasonable amount of time

In Bordeaux, France, there is a bridge straight south of the stadium that you’ve listed that shows up as a POI in sim and is definitely bespoke. It is called Pont Jacques Chaban Delmas (see pic)

It is indeed bespoke. Added to map. Thanks!

WU#4 La Vieille Lighthouse (La Cavelle?) in France
at 48°02’26"N 4°45’23"W
is on the map but does not exist in the sim

La Caravelle (a.k.a ā€œLa Cavelle Lighthouseā€ in the WU IV release notes) is located on the island of Martinique & displays on my PC:

There is no mention of La Vieille Lighthouse in the WU IV release notes.

  1. Frankfurt has about 40 custom buildings and bridges (I didn’t bother counting but it’s a lot), most of which aren’t on the map.
  2. In Mannheim, Wasserturm Mannheim is a custom piece of scenery, but not on the map (see screenshot below).
  3. Drachenfels Castle at 49°07’20"N 7°49’41"E is listed on your map but there is no scenery there at all. I think the one they listed is in S Bonn.

Hi folks. I updated the map to include World Update 17 and the recent City Updates too. I will now start to fix some of the map erratas that you guys point out which I am grateful!

Also wanted to highlight that this map has now surpassed 2 million views! Wow, incredible! That’s ~1,400 page views each day or ~1 per minute. I didn’t think back then it would be viewed so many times. :slightly_smiling_face:

Happy flying! :small_airplane:

Great job on this. It’s so useful. I’ll be annoying & point out a couple of things that could be changed though.

Leeds, Bradford, Worthing (slightly to the west of Brighton) & Newport (next to Cardiff) are missing tags from the newest WU. I’d also remove Sunderland as they kind of lied about adding that as no part of the new TIN covers any part of Sunderland.

Great, so I added Leeds, Bradford, Worthing and Newport to photogrammetry layer and removed Sunderland. Thanks!

Thank you so much for continuing to keep this updated! Four years later this continues to be an invaluable resource for me and I am baffled at how MS/Asobo haven’t created something similar, because when a new update comes out with POIs the first thing I wonder is, OK exactly where are they?!? How can I plan a flight if I don’t know where the new POIs are ahead of time?
