No new airports, but they are all enhanced over 2020. They says they thought this was a better approach than adding new ones. From the last dev stream.
Which flight simulator accessories you can add to the 2024 SIM?
what can id do? i have been selected to participate in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Technical Alpha. the mail was landing in spam so i could see it today but download was until yesterday…
You cannot do anything I’m afraid.
The techAlpha has ended and is no longer available to anyone!
This only works, I think, if your other half is compatible too
Hello folks,
We updated the FAQ with answers to two more questions today:
If I switch platforms from having MSFS 2020 in MS Store to MSFS 2024 on Steam, will my purchases transfer over?
Yes, your purchases will follow you if you sign in using the same Xbox Live account.
If I have Premium Deluxe Edition of MSFS 2020 on MS Store, and decide to get Standard Edition of MSFS 2024 on Steam, will the Premium Deluxe planes from my MS Store version carry over to my Standard Edition on Steam?
Yes, they will.
Thanks,
MSFS Team
Does this also go for new purchases made on 2024, or only for purchases made in 2020?
Eg, can I have both an MS Store copy and a Steam copy, and using the same Xbox Live account on both have access to the same content bought through either client/platform?
(The reasons I ask are “Xbox requires MS Store license” and “Linux requires Steam license” :D)
Will it also work the other way round switching from Steam to MS Store?
I am now beginning to understand what “Permutations, combinations and probablilty” was all about in math!
If I have the MSFS 2020 and 2024 Steam versions, can I use my MarketPlace items on XCloud if I play MSFS2024 on XCloud using the same XBox Live Account?
I have a question.
If i buy the Standard Edition from Steam, will i be able to upgrade it at a later stage to Premium Deluxe Edition or even the Aviator Edition? it would be great if this was possible because it’s a lot of money to spend now for the bigger editions.

I asked this question directly to Jorg and he said the community team has been given all the answers and that the info about upgrades will be posted soon. I am also looking forward to that info about upgrading from standard to premium deluxe etc.
There might be upgrades available on the Marketplace like they have been in MSFS 2020. Don’t expect them to be cheap. My PD upgrade for 2020 was 82 EUR in 2021.
Thanks a lot for your quick reply guys, i appreciate it!
It’s fine if it costs more as i’m not expecting it to be cheaper than buying the Deluxe Editions directly. But for me this would be equal to a part payment as silly as that might sound. It makes it easier to manage the big cost by splitting it up into two parts.

I started out with the Store version and bought a few things on the marketplace then. Then I bought the game again on Steam and had to rebuy my previous marketplace purchases (with the same XBox account) and from then on purchased more items from the marketplace using the Steam version.
Will all purchases I made with my XBox account transfer to my Steam version of MS2024?
If they do, what happens to the items I bought twice?
If not, will the Store (bad) or Steam (good) purchases transfer?
If I switch platforms from having MSFS 2020 in MS Store to MSFS 2024 on Steam, will my purchases transfer over?
Yes, your purchases will follow you if you sign in using the same Xbox Live account.

By that same token, if I buy it on Steam for my computer, but also have it on Xbox (I have Game Pass Ultimate), will MP purchases also be transferrable between the two versions of 2024? I know this is very similar to the above FAQ question, but that only answers regarding 2020 to 2024 and not interchangeability between the two versions of 2024. Right now it’s not possible between Steam and MS versions of 2020.
I’m hoping this is also possible, but the answer will heavily influence which way I buy on the PC version.
That question has yet to be answered.
As some developers may need to charge existing customers for the 2024 updates to their products will Microsoft be adding a percentage to these consumer costs?
MS (Jorg) said on live stream products would work from 2020 to 2024, this as it turns out was misinformation to the customer. Should MS be allowed to charge their percentage for updates for some PC users but ALL xbox customers?
