Hey I created quite the problem for myself. In an effort to troubleshoot the known mouse issue, I accidentally deleted all configurations for both the mouse and keyboard. The mouse shows up but doesn’t respond in any menu. The keyboard only works on the main menu which unfortunatelly cant get me into the settings menu. I can get into a flight but the esc key doesnt get recognized. So unfortunately, there isn’t a way to get into the settings menu. I tried deleting the wgs folder from this post Advice Required: How to do a complete reset of MSFS 2024 - #7 by gwnaydennl2 and followed the advice for going offline, starting, then waiting for the prompt to join the internet, however, this kept the config settings for the keyboard and mouse. I’ve reinstalled and repaired several times without any luck. I appreciate any help I can get here!
Edit - sorry I just re-read your question, saying you couldn’t get to Controls.
Do you happen to have another keyboard - it might just recognize it as a different device and apply the default profile long enough for you to get in and edit?
Or you could try this - deleting cloud saves, which will reset your log book and saved controller settings, and put you back at the beginning… for me on PC with MS Store version it was the 3rd section:
Can you get in to Settings > Controls?
- Under DEVICES LIST in the upper left click on KEYBOARD
Then below, you will see “Keyboard presets config”
- set “General controls” to “Keyboard 2024 Transversal” (the default)
- set “Airplanes controls” to “Keyboard 2024 Planes” (the default)
Then, do the same for MOUSE
Then maybe exit and reboot the sim just for good measure.
If that works, and gets you back to normal, you can change both General and Airplanes controls for each device.
To start with the Default settings, you would first duplicate both the General and Airplanes defaults by clicking the little gear next to each (give them unique names, like My Keyboard General, My Keyboard Airplanes) and then you can edit your copies as you like.
SOLVED! Deleted cloud saves. Thank you a million times. I owe you a virtual beer.
