I’ve got a fairly good AMD gaming rig and I’m based in the UK where the servers are seemingly being slow so I’ve had an extremely underwhelming experience.
Had a lovely flight in FS2020 though.
I really don’t have words for this.
Can’t find a single thing which is better in 24 than in 20.
I’m out and back to the old one now.

Well, the planes are good if they interest you. And I am very frustrated too, but still, I think I like a few things like the efb.
I agree with ALL of that… Re-release in a year and rename it …2025.
Absolutely NO immersion with so many blatant bugs.
I’m back to 2020 until a lot is fixed… Asobo has my $$$ < → Premium Deluxe…Please fix it.
I’m a simmer not a gamer - the only thing I’m interested in is “Free Flight” and excellent airplanes to fly. I’ll never touch Career Mode…

I have since ironed out many issues. I think the main problem is that MSFS requires a TON of setup and experimentation. For instance, there is no carry-over of settings and customizations from MSFS 2020. Everything has to be set from scratch, including many, many controls bindings. There are no help options that I have been able to find, so you have to go to either Steam or FSMS help outside of the sim. It is also deadly slow loading right now, worse (if that is possible than MSFS 2020) primarily, I guess, because nothing is stored locally. Rumor is that will change, gadfry, it is bad. In the early trailers is seemed that we would be able to do the new activities such as fire fighting and safari flights. That is not true at all until you go through the career training. Am I wrong about that, I don’t think so. OK, so I am keeping the game, but I now have to spend a small fortune for a new GPU because MSFS 2024 stinks in VR whereas MSFS 2020 is fine. I would warn any new simmers that this one is going to be very heavy lifting. Now all I have to do is discover how to do screenshots with a key command. Supposed in Steam you press F12, but on my computer that does not work. I have heard that Printscreen will do the job, but I haven’t tried that yet. I figure a few more hours or days and I will have it pretty much sorted out. Or not.

Disappointing commentary, but alas…Refreshing.
I tried the Shift+C workaround on the Citation Longitude. The plane wouldn’t start with CTRL+E. Then I couldn’t figure out how to open the door to get out and check on the engine covers and stuff.
lighting and ground handling are better. take a seaplane out on the ocean and you’ll see the improvements made with the water physics. there is a lot of room for improvement in other areas though.

If you have Windows GameBar installed on your PC, SHIFT+WIN+PrtScr works, and date/time stamps the image along with the name of the game/program you’re running when you take the screenshot.
Anyway, I’ve now had two solid days of great to fantastic performance. I know that’s cold comfort to those going through it with load times, connectivity and bandwidth problems and generally poor performance. But honestly, I can’t complain. Here’s Flightbeam’s KSFO with live real-time traffic, multiplayer set to ALL PLAYERS, in live (terrible!) weather, at 1440p / TAA and a mix of high-end and ultra settings. There are dozens and dozens of real world and MP aircraft on the field and in nearby airspace, and dozens of ships in the Bay. NO WAY could I get this level of performance in FS2020 with all this traffic and in this kind of weather. I’d be in the teens without framegen, and high 20’s/mid 30’s with.

Great to have better water performances. Really, no sarcasm.
But I’d like to fly over land as well and this is completely looking like a child work made with crayons🖍️. Interior of the planes is loading new mid flight. Trim doesn’t work. Cursor mode on Xbox is real stress management.
Where to stop? I’ll give it some time and hope it will come out better than now.
yes, this is bug. Whem you setting your custom view in one airplane and then you will open another airplane views are from this first one until you reset the sim.
Yeah livery matching is very much a WIP. I have a draft bug report ready to post regarding real-world traffic settings but waiting until after work when I can do some more troubleshooting and narrow down the conditions before I post it.
I’m using Flightbeam’s KSFO in my Community folder. It seems to be completely replacing the sim’s “handcrafted” version without issue, though I need to take my time and drone around the airport grounds and buildings to verify. I was mostly testing basic performance in the face of as much multiplayer and real-world traffic as I could.
Also and FWIW, I have SamScene’s USA Cities pack installed with downtown San Francisco, and it looked amazing. I was getting well over 100 fps flying low around the city, under and around the Bay Bridge, and then over the Bay before turning around to land back at KSFO.
