MSFS Marketplace discussion

Yeah, try and financially hurt one of the biggest and most valuable corporations in the world, by not spending that #29.99…really?

Yes, really. Have you not seen what has been happening in gaming recently? Multiple 7, and even 8 figure games failing, and entire development houses being closed because the public didn’t buy their games. One company alone spent somewhere between 200 and 400 million dollars, and the game was a massive flop.

Everyone’s decision not to buy is important.

Yes and the majority of us simmers don’t want Microsoft closing flight simulator again. So by doing as you suggest would end MSFS.

So you are claiming nothing has been fixed since the sim launch? If that’s what you are claiming than you are either unknowingly lying and spreading disinformation, as you have done with some of your other posts, or you are trolling.

Evidently you don’t know anything about economics. Enough said.

I wouldn’t go so far as saying that he’s lying or spreading misinformation. TO be fair, there are some things that have been fixed but actually very little of the core issues were fixed and most of them are scheduled for SU2 or SU3.

The actual entire sim experience, if you intend to use all of the in-sim features (laggy UI, EFB not working properly, flight planner failing to find routes, bugged airplanes, ATC), is extremely similar to launch.

A friend of mine flies almost exclusively the Fenix A320, doesn’t use ATC, … and has faced very little of all the annoying issues the rest of us find. Just hates the UI and all the streaming issues like almost everyone experienced with the sim.

You misunderstand. I’m not suggesting people do that, merely refuting the idea that one person not buying a game has no effect on the developers. It does, and if enough people make that choice the result can be disastrous but also sometimes it’s a great way to get companies to change their course. Market forces will prevail.

I haven’t had to pay for anything since the sim launched. I do intend on buying a few addons after they are added to the marketplace.

Honestly, they could very well get away with fixing the most annoying bugs that occur in 2024 (panel is already on at C&D, not being able to set IRS Ref) and I’d be happy. I’m even okay with a reasonable upgrade fee, as long as we don’t need to wait for all the 777s and 747s to be launched for the 737s to get some love again

Veering off-topic here a bit, but from what I understand in the PMDG Forum, they are prioritizing getting the 777s into 24; and since the 737s will require a great deal of rework, those will wait.

I know all of that and I agree with you. I feel those that have nothing positive to say about the sim or at least are not willing offer constructive criticism are trolling at this point. All of the complaints have been posted over and over and over again.

Sure. It’s great to see items finally being added to the Marketplace. Looking forward to the dev stream tomorrow for more news.. :slightly_smiling_face:

Same here. I’m honestly not surprised that only MS products (namely upgrade options and individual planes) are the only things available at the moment. From what I heard, the Marketplace was essential to getting the Brazil update out. I’m happy with the decision to open the Marketplace now, even if it’s a bit sparce at moment, in order to get the update out, rather than putting everything on hold until all the third-party add-ons are ready for showtime.

In time, we will see more and more on the 2024 marketplace. I’m content to wait as, at least for me personally, I’ve had very few issues with the sim (although I do understand that not everyone has been as fortunate as I have).

I’m still missing FlyTampa’s Las Vegas scenery that I purchased in FS2020, and I know others are as well.

Tokyo Landmarks Enhanced for MSFS by SamScene3d is showing in my library but is not available for activation.

All the other sceneries I bought I was able to activate in my library.

Hopefully the ones missing will be added soon.

You can’t say everyone that complains is trolling. If a situation has not been resolved, and it is a show stopper for them, then you can’t expect them to only mention it once, and then patiently wait.

Bush trips are the only mode I use. I am a virtual tourist. I’m not interested in planes or flight really, but more seeing the world. Bush trips were not included at all at launch. They were supposed to be in the sim at launch, but are now being categorized as “new content”. SU1-3 are fix only updates. That means the very earliest I will see bush trips would be SU4 or later. Almost a whole year after launch. A full year of a purchased product that I will have to wait before I can even use what I purchased. If you think I am trolling, I am not. I keep bringing it up as an issue because perhaps they can hire one of the other third party developers to do the bush trip code. We have Working TItle and the Replay guy doing code directly for the sim. Maybe we can move this process along so that virtual tourists don’t have to wait a full year with a sim they can’t use.

And you might say “Well explore other areas of the sim”. But remember what I said before about not really being interested in flight or planes? So what mode is there? You might say (as others in the past have said) pull the flight plan out of the bush trip and just fly it in Free Flight. But I want to see and learn. Free flight, I would lose the nav log. I would lose any narration that occurs. I would lose my ability to learn whil I am flying it. So now you might say “Extract out the nav log entries” and then display them on another screen, and pull out the flight plan and load that.

So now you get into the slippery scope of how much work do I want to do to overcome issues. This is supposed to be a hobby. And with 2020 being out there, and no work required, for me that has to be the obvious choice.

I get that things are working well for you, and you get tired of hearing people complain. But we just are not in a place yet where everyone is whole. Some people have CTD mid flight. Some people the displays go black mid flight. Some people crash on approach. They can’t fly their flights. I am honestly glad things are working for you. But that isn’t the case with everyone. And they shouldn’t be labeled as trolls.

My post was actually to confirm that I agree it’s now missing. It was definitely there at launch but now I only see the A320 and A321. I just didn’t notice it since I’ve been flying the 737s lately.

Looks like things are slowly coming in. I’m seeing a bunch of 3rd party aircraft from 2020 (also marked as being compatible with 2024) showing up in the marketplace. In my library, I just saw that the Blackbird PC-6 is now available as well.

Dumb question here …but going to ask it!

Now the 2024 MP is starting to fill with 2020 a/c as well, do I need to delete the relevant aircraft from my community folder that I previously copied from my 2020 community folder to use in 24?

For me I use a common folder and select or unselect using addon linker, 2020 and 2024. then I have control. If this helps.

Question: Does the DLC streamed in 24 appear in the Community folder, or the folder structure controlled by Addon Linker, in a PC or does it not appear since it is streamed?

Checking the marketplace every full hour for the TBM850 to officially drop and being 100% compatible with 2024…
