[MSFS2024] Cirrus SR22T

I’ve always loved the Cirrus SR-22, red livery, in MSFS and earlier (FSX). Easy enough to get in and fly, the new walk-around is a nice mild touch.

The ONE thing that’s never been fixed is the pitch trim indicator on the left stick. As you adjust it (and the pitch trim hat should work on the stick, too, it used to in FSX), it should show on the indicator. It hasn’t, ever, in MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. Some day, I hope?

Having only had standard prior to 2024, I love the SR22 but that windshield is so frustrating.

I haven’t tried it. I don’t want to change my default key bindings because of one buggy airplane. After all, all the other piston powered aircraft work fine. So I hope the SR22 will be fixed.

There is something completely screwed up about the physics with this version. Full disclaimer… I am a commercial rated cirrus pilot.
I could butter every landing with msfs2020 but with this version, the physics are just off. Every joystick input seems to get drastically exaggerated… Even with the sensitivities dialed to .75. Flaring at the landing caused the nose to pitch up and even at slow speeds below 76kts even, pulling back on the stock causes the plane to rise too much rather just hold the nose off the runway resulting in pilot induced oscillations.
Also, as stated previously, the p. brake goes back on when toggled either with the keyboard or joystick button and flaps won’t go to 50% with the keyboard or joystick buttons.
Also, when the plane spawns the pdf and MDF on the front panel is also blank (not turned off …just…missing).
The propeller rpm does not mirror the power setting accurately… The rpms should immediately change when the throttle is reduced.

Why on earth do we STILL have a milky windshield on the SR22?

Hellooooo? Does ANYONE at Asobo actually ever start a flight with these birds to check on, um, you know, basic stuff like consistency?

Seriously, fix the windscreen. It’s ridiculous how opaque and unrealistic it is. As an IRL SR22T driver, I can attest it doesn’t look anything like this. The whole world is washed out in the sim. Ridiculous. Did they even fly it before it was released?

Yeah, i have the same issue with the mixture lever.

I had an issue earlier today that when opening the passenger door the door frame and door detail (handle, that foggy glass etc) open at different speeds.

Not sure if this is normal or was just a once-off occurrence.

Also my first SR22 flight this morning I had white reg numbers, then after restarting the sim the reg numbers were black (with same livery).

I struggle to understand inconsistency in computing. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Two days in a row now… the planes ignition turns itself off and the throttle, throttles downs during my flight. Have to keep restarting and throttling back up. Also can’t adjust fuel or add icing protection fluid.

I had something similar. Had a flight, landed, shut down. Came back later and started the SR up and could not get the power lever to move. Controller was ignored and moving it by mouse simply had it snap back to idle.

NOTE: this was the same uninterrupted sim session.

This is a real life difference between the 22 and the 22T. The turbo version does not have the linked prop and throttle lever like the naturally aspirated plane does; instead it has a fixed RPM governor set at 2500 RPM.

You will not see the RPM on the prop decrease until the airspeed is slow enough that the prop runs out of pitch and is fully fine; this happens around 95kts and below.

This is quite strange, as the flight model CFG was not changed for the 2024 version (it was already quite accurate in both performance vs book and actual feel/behavior). Do you have any mods installed that might affect this?

Have the following issues been fixed from MS2020: COMM freq last digit cannot be entered from the keypad (works with COMM rotary knobs), No status indicator on COMM and Autopilot panels reflecting a selection, ILS Approach procedure will overwrite both NAV 1 and NAV 2 frequency automatically, Flap indicator light does not light up corresponding to each control switch position, etc…

Until the windscreen haziness is fixed, I find it hard to fly this plane.

Uhg! I know. It’s just terrible! I mostly fly the COWS DA42 now. It works well for me.

Yes. I realized I had the Asobo realism mid installed.
Something similar needs to be made available for this version. It’s useless as is. The vision jet is 10 times more realistic in terms of flight characteristics.

I’m confused. You say you had a mod installed, but you don’t say how it flies without the mod installed.

There is no “Asobo” realism mod. There’s a mod available on flightsim.to, but it specifically says it’s not compatible with 2024. How does it fly without the mod installed?

Edit: Just flew it myself, landed just great. Yes, I had to have a very light touch on the controls, both the stick and the rudder, but I didn’t see anything untoward about flying it. I definitely don’t expect the controls to move like the real ones would, I use an extremely light touch to get the plane to move like I expect it to move. Yes, the rudder pedals especially are super touchy. But, it’s a sim. I fly the plane, not the controls.

What controller are you using? I didn’t touch anything on the sensitivity of the controls, have you tried that? I’ve never flown an actual Cirrus before (various Pipers and Cessnas only here), so maybe I’m missing something that you’re expecting? The plane flew right on the numbers for me though. I am planning on getting checked out in a Cirrus sometime this year, but it’ll be a straight up SR22 (they might have an SR20, too? KFIT), not an SR22T.

All settings realistic for me. I use a Logitech Extreme3D Pro joystick, CH Products Pro Pedals, and a CH Products Throttle Quadrant (twin engine) for controls. Had 'em all since 2004, been simming since 1987. Got my license in '96 (using FS’95 for practice, lol). Computer is an i11700K, 4090, 64GB memory windows 10. Nothing special about the setup. All controls default except for button assignments.

Hi guys.. overall the plane is very good except for a couple of things I would improve. Windshield is too plastic looking and harder to see through. It always looks like a hazy day out there. 2) The prop shadows are too dense and disturbing. I would really reduce the intensity of the prop shadows, even elimate them. They look so fake.

My textures are all messed up for the Asobo version in the hanger and subsequently in fly mode it doesn’t work, pink all over.

WTT version is fine, but all the Asobo version textures are broken.
Not seeing any other texture issues with other planes, but then I’m still missing ALL my 2020 planes apart from the 10 in the Deluxe/Premium Deluxe pack.
No FF, no LL, no 3rd party planes for me.

Just to chime in, the issues with the mixture lever, also described here, are still present. Here’s a video to illustrate: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/jYXrorINfiQ

Is it just me or the SR22T is burning way more fuel than it should ? The POH states that it should burn 16.4gph at 75% power but the MFD is showing a 24.2gph burn rate. Is it only showing wrong or is it really burning that. Has anybody made the calculations ?
