Has any day already tried the dlss 3.0 mod with their 3090? Would be interesting if this works, the VRAM of the card should be big enough.
you would think different about it if you see it in person. Frame generation is a game changer, especially for msfs. But of course it needs to be worked on like DLSS1 in the early days.
Works perfect right now with one screen, i go from ~76fps to ~140fps in 5k (ultrawide) with high to ultra settings. But unfortunately DX12 is broken atm if you use more than one renderwindows.
I’ll save the 2 grand and enjoy my smooth capped 60 FPS on my x3d 12gb 3080 at TLOD 350 dx12 it will happily go up to 80plus uncapped off the ground but I see no need to go any higher so it would be 2k being completely wasted
As long as your enjoying yourself that’s all that matters I’m wondering what to spend my 2k on…
Yes it‘s not for you, you don‘t need it right now it‘s for simmers with multiple screens or ultrawide 5k monitors.
In 2 to 3 years you‘ll love to have a 5070 or 4080 because they support frame generation.
And i don‘t care if you have 2k lying around or 20k, you shouldn‘t care for me either, it‘s not the point in any conversation here. We all want the same, independent of budget.
Hopefully I’ll never need frame generation, I’d rather use raw power of the hardware, I do have an ultrawide Samsung but only use at 1440 can hardly see any difference going higher so yeah bumping upto 4k and beyond is not something I’ll be fussed on.
I’m pretty sure the next gen x3d will add in some extra performance if it’s needed.
Spend whatever you like I couldn’t care less
If only I did have 2k lying around
Not all the issues are on the MSFS side for DX12. Have you tried the latest Nvidia 522.25 drivers, I know there is a number of DX12 fixes in this build. We’re also relying on better memory management which I think SU11 has so should give more stable / less crashy performance for folks with less than 24GB of VRAM!
If I was you I’ll buy a 4K projector, no less no more
Play well, fly big!
Yes it‘s on the msfs side, i tried with a 3070 with old and the newest driver, with old and new win11 update and i tested with a 4090 newest driver. Also i have seen some YT videos were people try multi screen setups with DX12 and DLSS 3 who can‘t get more than 30fps
Contradiction much?
Was only a joke mate meant I’ll save 2k off the 4090 and and spend on something else
I’ll stick with my 3090
RX7900 XTX from AMD is nearly to be half the price and you can spend those savings on a 5800X cpu.
You have no choice in VR. Even a 4090 is in most cases to weak to run high quality VR games maxed out on VR headsets. You have to keep in mind that those headset have a render resolution of min 2160 * 2160 per eye. To account for barrel distortion and the headsets should be run at 140% resolution. That would be 3024 * 3024 per eye at 90 Hz refresh rate with optimal no frame drops.
Flat 4k gaming @ 120hz is less demanding.
Finally… The report (good or bad) I was looking for! Thanks!!
I agrree.
Additional information. DLSS 3 frame generation is not supported for VR (for now). Maybe in the future may never.
Would you like to elaborate why the headset should be run at 140% resolution?
Is there a significant increase in picture quality comparing to 100% because the GPU must be close to twice as fast for same fps.
Thank you for all the work posting the results.
Not sure I understand your question so no offence if I did.
This the supersampling process. Rendering at a higher resolution (140%) instead of native 100%, and then reducing the result to native resolution, give a far better result than rendering and displaying all at 100%

No worries, I am not really good in explaining such things, but maybe this reddit thread will help. There is a YouTube video which explains it in detail. It is only of concern when you are playing in VR though.
Assuming you’re using TAA and OXRTK, there are at least three places you can set Render Scale: WMR, in Sim option and in the Toolkit menu. I usually set the first two to 100% and dialed down the toolkit setting to maybe 90%.
But since picking up the Kodiak with its glass cockpit and tiny labeled buttons, I’ve been experimenting with upscaling WMR to 150 or 200% and dropping the in Sim render scale to maybe 80%. Seemed to help with sharpness of the displays. Not sure what to set the toolkit resolution to.
I’m running an i9/12900, 3090 and Reverb G2.
