My Full World Tour – Planned with ChatGPT & Flown in the A350

Hey fellow simmers!

Over the past few weeks, I’ve flown one of the most incredible journeys of my virtual pilot life and still in it – a complete world circumnavigation in the iniBuilds A350, entirely planned together with ChatGPT.

I want to share this with you because it turned out to be more than just a project – it became an adventure.

I wanted to plan something special:

  • No random hops.
  • No repetitive long hauls.
  • Every leg should be scenic, well-timed, and memorable.

So I asked ChatGPT to help me plan a world tour with:

  • Realistic distances
  • Scenic approaches
  • Proper runways for the A350
  • Best time of day for screenshots
  • Weather recommendations
  • KML map + Excel route planner

And yes – ChatGPT delivered. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

:airplane: The Route (Highlights)

Over 60 Legs – All planned with golden hour approaches and photogenic weather.

Some favorites:

  • Queenstown (NZQN) at sunrise through the mountains
  • Wolf’s Fang Runway (WFR) in Antarctica
  • Cape Town (FACT) with the Table Mountain glowing in the evening sun
  • St. Maarten (TNCM) – beach and flare
  • Keflavík (BIKF) with northern lights

Every leg had a purpose and was timed for maximum scenic impact.

:bar_chart: The Tools I Used

I worked step by step with ChatGPT:

  1. Gave my current location (e.g., “I’m in WADD, suggest the next legs”)
  2. Asked for scenic details (best UTC time, weather, description)
  3. Compiled everything into a spreadsheet

:world_map: Interactive Map & Tracker

I created a Google Earth KML map showing my full route:

  • Airport icons for each stop
  • Green = Legs completed
  • Black = Legs upcoming
