Yeah, for below minimum cards, the best we can do is to aim at a lower but stable FPS. In the meanwhile try to push visual settings higher, so the overall experience and satisfaction become much better than with higher FPS but jiggering/wobbling (due to FPS re-projection issue) or looking too terrible.
I am glad that by using this strategy, I can now focus on enjoying VR itself. I found two surprising things: 1) the sun and moon are almost 3-4 times bigger in MSFS than they should be. 2) the best plane for VR scenery viewing (in the cockpit) is Flight Design CTSL. Because pilot was modeled smaller than in Cessna planes, my left side view was almost completely unobstructed.
Your word document helped me a lot to gain the bare minimum to enjoy a VFR flight in Cessna 152.. thanks a lot man ! In the meantime Xplane will remain my IFR liner tool and MSFS to enjoy visual flights in prestigious location ( I7 9700k @5ghz with GTX1080 )
I finally took some in game FPS screenshots. They explained what I had actually got (18 stable FPS) in VR. I cannot say for others but please trust me: 18 stable FPS with HIGH graphic settings is now very enjoyable for me. With better than 1660 Super hardware, you should be able to aim at 30 stable FPS with decent graphic settings. Good luck!
