In the Bing map that I can access via Internet, I can see buildings area named Orange Farm, west of Johanna Jacobs natural reserve.
I will make a fly there to look at what we have in msfs2020.
Had a friend coming from Johannesburg. She came living in Belgium for a few years circa 1990 when it was there troubled times.
Yeah, in regular MSFS currently, Orange Farm is there. The new Bing maps which you can load with an addon (and which will be used for FS2024), Orange Farm has been censored.
And Johannesburg is my second home. My wife is there with her family. Most live in Orange Farm.
If we see issues with the new Bing Maps, who do we report this to? The Bing team might not even be aware that South Africa censored so many communities off the map. I would like a chance to report it, and have the Bing team be able to work with South Africa to get the full data like they had in 2019. Preferably before the final pass that Blackshark.ai will make for FS2024.
Iām pretty sure they will be but unlikely in their current raw state, there are colour matching, morphing and shadows optimisations to be made. Of course thereās always the chance Blackshark have come up with an automation that can do some of this locally on your PC.
I am genuinely disappointed because JORG has misled us by claiming that when the new Bing Maps are released in 2024, they would also provide updates for 2020. This kind of dishonesty is unacceptable.
apparently a trickle of info from support to me, others and some other comments on the forum point to the aerials, photogrametry, etc being delayed due it not being ready for release. sometime next year will come. Jorg also said some weeks ago that the shared world of aerials for 2020 & 2024 would be delayed 1-2 months post launch. so tbd if itāll all come in a data dump of tera bytes or phased roll out
