Better going back to .40 driver and see it the issue remains.
So has anyone seen ANY improvements/advantages of using the new DLSS version in the sim? Like les trailers behind Multiplayer planes, or elsewhere?
If not, why should one even replace the file?
Whatâs your opinion? Can you report any improvement or degradation?
RTX4070/Ryzen 7 5800X in VR. Downloaded the dll and replaced as per instructions. Have to say I saw no real difference, everything behaved as before. Maybe, just maybe there was a little bit of jittering but I couldnât say for definite it was this new dll. I then removed it and replaced with the original and again noticed no difference- but then again I donât go much for proper testing, just interested to see what, if anything, it did.
For me, nothing.
I find it to have less ghosting and a little bit sharper.
Me? Havenât tried it yet. Not sure itâs worth it since last time I saw no difference
If you install the latest Nvidia driver using NVCleanInstall you have an option to show which version of DLSS is in use - with Frame Gen and Reflex switched off in PC settings, I found the game using the DLSS 2.5.1 that Iâd installed at the same time as DLSS 3.1.2. This was in VR using a 4090 and a Quest 2.
I did see a difference in using the DLSS 2.5.1 dllâs over the original that came with the sim though.
Iâm interested checking what version of the DLSS DLL the beta build of SU13 includes⊠any way to check? Iâm running the beta but donât know how to check what version it includes.
Hey Chris - Iâm on the Store version of MSFS (not Steam) and the DLSS .dllâs are saved in my MSFS Content folder.
nvngx_dlss.dll (the DLSS version 2 .dll)
nvngx_dlssg.dll (the DLSS version 3 .dll)
Highlight the file with your mouse and then hover over, it should give you the version.
OK - if you have the Microsoft store version and the DLSS file is in WindowsApps/XXXMicrosoftFlightSimulatorXXX/ how did you ever get permission to exchange the files? Iâve tried to âownâ that directory many times using Google searches for help but I never truly seem to own the files so I can replace the DLSS files. If you actually know how, please provide a complete step-by-step procedure. BTW, my nvngx_dlss.sll is version 2.4.12.0
Thanks
Hi
When I initially installed MSFS I didnât want it installed on my boot SSD so told it to install to a folder on my second SSD during installation. Itâs installed to a games folder there. As such, itâs not in the standard Store folder. I didnât actually overwrite the original DLSS .dllâs and rather renamed them with. OLD appended just in case I needed to go back to the originals.
You can get in to that folder with admin rights, but I found I couldnât write there last time I tested this. There are some other tricks you can do, but I have not tried these yet. You can use a program called âpsexecâ to get a command prompt running with SYSTEM privileges, so above Administrator. That might have the ability to write to that protected folder.
